Figure I've messed with my truck enough in the last few months to justify a build page. I've had her for almost four years now. I haven't done a very good job of documenting the mods as they come in, but I'll try to do a better job now that I started this page.

Notice the Silverado was afraid to cross the pond. Looks like the owner is picking up some parts off the ground.

Sick looking truck! Did you order the ARE with Yakima rail's? Getting a cap this spring. How do you like your DAP tune? Thinking of getting a DAP tune. Wife not keen of me getting a supercharger. Again badass truck!!

I'm loving the Pros, but they do come with some negatives at 295/70r18. They are louder than the BFG KO2s I had, but it's not that bad. You can still carry a conversation with your passengers at normal volumes. I did lose about 1.5 to 3 mpg depending on the type of driving I'm doing. They also feel more sluggish off the line. I'm getting used to it, so don't notice it as much. But I still plan to re-gear to 4.88 sometime this year. That should take care of the sluggish feeling and hopefully get me at least some of the mpgs back. They also sling a lot of rocks. My paint has taken a little bit of a beating since I've had them on. Part of that is due to the offset of the wheel. I made some "extended" mudflaps out of semi-truck flaps. My rocks sliders should give a little more protection once I get them on.

They look badass, and they should perform well in mud and deep snow. While I highly recommend them, I might still consider something like a Toyo Open Country or Nitto Ridge Grappler next time around.

Thanks! Yea, I ordered the cap with the Yakima rails. I think I saved $100 or so just getting them through ARE. I've only had the DAP tune for a few days now. It takes several hundred miles for the truck to fully learn the tune according to DAP. When I floor it, the shift points are very noticeable. It also feels like it gets up faster in a passing situation. Normal driving around town, I don't really notice much. I think its value depends on what type of driving mostly do. If you're on the highway a lot, you'll get more out of it I think. The supercharger would be nice, haha. So expensive though. I have considered headers.

Got a set of SuperBumps from Wheeler’s Off-Road today to replace the puny stock bump stops. Picked up a set of spacers with them, but did not install those yet. The SuperBumps are over twice the height of the stock bump stops. There are two sets of bump stops above the lower control arm. According to Wheeler’s you just need to do the rear set.

Install was easy. I would get a set of channel locks or a pipe wrench to remove the stock bumps. Then, clean out the threads with some WD-40. I jacked up the front end to get some additional clearance above the LCA when screwing in the SuperBumps.

It took them awhile to ship the Superbumps, but they were really good about keeping me informed during the delay. I'll keep sending them $ if they keep the free candy flowing!

I need to look into a set for the rear. I don't see any listed on their site for Tundras. Hopefully the Tacoma ones work.

I actually got the very last set of the original Type 4's before they discontinued them and went with the boxed design. Been waiting patiently for them. According to Mac, they started a run of sliders sometime last week, so hopefully they'll be on their way soon. Sounds like they're a pain in the ass to install.

The 4's are (were) pretty beefy. I'm thinking decent sliders aren't going to be a piece of cake to install. Remember-----Homer Buckets come in handy to position them.

Truck looks great. Any pics or details of the "extended mud flaps" you made?

Thanks! I purchased a 24x30 rubber flap for semis off eBay and used my stock flaps to trace out the general shape. I added about 1-1.5” to give some extra coverage on the tire sticking out from the wheel well. Used the stock screws and mounting points. I had to cut out a small section in front of the cab mount location for better tire clearance. I’ll add some pictures tomorrow.

They definitely do a better job than the stock flaps at keeping rocks from beating up the sides of the truck. I know there are some aftermarket flaps out there that are supposed to give better coverage, but the ones I saw were close to $150. These were cheap, easy to make, and get the job done. If I end up having to make them again down the road, I might bring the top of the flap up a few more inches so that the part that sticks out looks a little better. I'd could probably clean up the visible edge some with a dremel.

Thanks for the info. Gonna be getting either 295 or 305 series tires soon. My 275s already stick out a little with my 18mm offset wheels now so I'm looking for a way to keep the damage to a minimum.

Yea, my doors take a beating anytime I drive on gravel with this current tire/wheel combo. Sounds like I'm making popcorn. Had one rock hit me that sounded like a baseball. Found a nice 3" gash in the lower door. I have a set of rock sliders coming in soon (hopefully). I would think they should help keep the flying rocks down some.

One of my favorite cosmetic mods has been the Clazzio seat covers. I have the PVC, a/k/a vinyl, set. If you’re not trying to build a show truck, these seat covers are awesome. I paid around $275 for the set with a discount code.

I’ve had multiple people in my truck thinking I had factory leather seats. If you’re looking closely, you can see the OEM upholstery in a few spots. The last 6 photos show some of these "imperfections." I could probably close some of these gaps if I wanted to mess with them more. On the front seats, the Clazzios aren’t quite form fitting in the middle portion of the seat and seat back. This is due to the contours in the seats. You don’t really notice it unless you’re pressing in the seat, or when you just get out of the truck.

Install was fairly straightforward, but still a pain in the ass. The material is tight, and you need to “work” it in places to get them over the seats and into position. I took all the seats out of the truck to do it. I could probably do the install in the truck if I had to do it again.

Overall, I’m 100% satisfied with my set. I bought them because I found the OEM upholstery a pain to keep clean. Now, no more ass sweat stains when I come back from the gym. I feel they’re made of a decently durable material. This PVC is actually much better quality than the “leather” I had in one of my Grand Cherokees.

Here’s a couple more pics showing how I made them work. I did use a zip tie for the part below the cab mount to keep it from moving too much.
