I have not started my install yet but for those of you that have installed it, do you attach the cable coming out of your hood to the engine bay somewhere? I don't see anything in the instructions or pictures. Does it just hang or wire tied to something? Let me know how you did yours.

I’d like to see yours when you are done. Where in the Bay you stay?

The red/blk nsv wire you tapped at the brake controller harness put a toggle in between the yellow wire & red/blk wire and that will kill the nsv anytime the vehicle is on.

There isn’t much let over wire at that connector, so I just tucked it in that area and zip tied

Yes the cable that's attached to the lightbar that comes out of the hood attaches to the cable that runs into the cab. Watch the 3 install YouTube videos. They helped me a lot.

@BlueBottle I am located in Livermore. I planned on installing at the same time as the EVO One but am now waiting for the new Toy7 harness from Fortin. I want to install it now but make sense to install at the same time because you have to take out all the same interior panels.

I watched all the videos and it shows feeding the cable but I don't really see what they do with it once its all in place. I will watch them again.

I ran the wiring in the hood and light in the bulge, however I have a gap on the top both left and right sides. It is like the light is keeping the top sides from clipping in all the way. Anyone else have this? I have taking it off and remounted the light several times, still has the gap.

    Thanks, Mike

Did you install the little black clips correctly? And do you have all of the push/guide pins installed on the bulge?

I have taken off and installed the bulge two dozen times. If I remove the light bar from the bulge it clips in just fine. All pins are installed. NSV clips are on correctly. It looks like end pins are not in all the way from the photo, I have tried everything I have now done the wiring but have a problem with that. Light bar does not light, light bar switch does but not light. Light bar running lights work, swipe works and strobe works. Where do are start troubleshooting? 5CA1E652-4F59-4F5E-B934-954A2ECDED64.jpg

Just thinking, could this problem be related to me having done the fog light anytime mod? Maybe try reversing that tomorrow. Also was was trying with high beams on.

Lightbar will not work unless high beams are on.

I have a 17 1794 with stock headlights. I was trying with High-beams on and off. Strange that both swipe, strobe and DRL work fine. I did do the anytime fog mod. I will reverse that today and see if that makes a difference.

    Thanks, Mike

And is the truck running or just key turned to on? I had an issue with my 18 drl's not coming on bright but it was because the engine wasn't running. I don't know if the same would apply to you or not.

My light bar only turns on when I have the headlights "ON" if I have the headlights set to "AUTO" then it will not turn on. Might double check the setting on your column.

That seemed to do the trick. I thought I had tried that yesterday but guess not. Was so frustrated with my bulge not seating correctly. Anybody else have that issue?

    Thanks, Mike

Glade its working. My hood trim does the same thing your image shows. Its almost like there isn't quite enough room or the bar isn't curved perfectly and causing the bulge to bend up a bit. If you figure it out I'd appreciate an update but I coudln't get it to lay perfectly flat. It was just enough it bugs me but sometimes I have to tell myself I'm being to ocd. Its not enough I'm worried about the bulge coming off.

Well this mod went from gotta get this to maybe i can wait. The vid they show sounds like it pops back in no issues wonder if they changed the bar material up or something.

it's probably more likely I'm not smart enough to figure it out. it really isn't noticeable to anyone but the guy putting it on.
you'll spend about the same money for a baja designs s8 only to do a lot more fabrication and not have as clean of a finish.
    I'd still recommend this light.

yours does look like mine. I tried many different ways and never could get it right. In the install video he say you will have to use some force to get it to sit properly but didn't work for me.. Still happy with it.

    Flux capacitor!
My OEM hood bulge has always had a slight gap on the corners after installing the NSV light. The light seems to change the curvature of the plastic ever so slightly to keep the ends from snapping in all the way. I'm sure I could use a different plastic restrainer to help it fasten batter. I honestly haven't tried to adjust it since I've had it installed. I do love to use it though.

I def do love it and the install for my truck is a lot easier because i have an sr5 no platinum lights. Just gotta build the cash flow back up from interior upgrades. This and rigid fogs are next
