So I have done many headlight upgrades on past vehicles..all of them being HID, always hated the flickering and one goes out etc..yes "cheaper" kits but still annoying.
So I have owned my tundra since April and have researched numerous headlight bulb upgrades. .and I finally chose the Yitamotor Led headlight bulb replacement.

I ordered off Amazon for $38.99 the came really fast 4 days sooner than expected.
And I'm so pumped how they look! have had them in truck for 2 weeks now...they are a perfect span of light..I'm a huge led fan (since I'm an electrician) and very happy with these.

    There 6000k 6400lumens. 3200lumens per bulb.
Only thing that took getting used to is they have built in heat sinks and internal fans to keep cool and if you have music off and no screaming kid then you can hear a bit of humming.
I will.post a pic of light out put tonight but here is what the bulbs look like.

Awsome! That's my next upgrade is LED headlights. I just ordered all my other bulbs (interior, reverse, lic. plate lights) from yitamotor but off ebay. I went with all green interior LED, supposed to be getting them with the next couple days. I'll post some pics and if I don't like them hey its only $10.

Thanks Ron, I was reluctant to buy $100 plus LED headlights not knowing how they would be so I don't care about loosing $40 if they were cap but love them!

These are now in my letter to Santa. I already did the interior, reverse, and license plate led upgrades. Thanks for the referral.

Do LED lights require projectors in order to not blind other drivers? Will these blind other drivers if I put them in my stock housings?

I have them in my stock headlights and the adjustment leveler still works so bring them down so they are not high. But I haven't had ano issue blinding anyone.

Our headlights are only designed for halogen bulbs. Our stock reflector bowl will throw the beam pattern of an LED or an HID bulb all over the place, basically blinding oncoming drivers.
I guess the only right way to do it would be to have a projector or housing that matches the bulb type. Like an HID projector with an HID bulb, or a halogen projector with a halogen bulb. Or an LED housing with LED bulbs.
That way there is a crisp cut off line that you can adjust. Generally the rule of thumb is that that cut off line should be below the mirrors of a passenger car at 25 feet away.

With that being said, I am no light expert. That's just what I have read on the internet, and we all know everything that we read on the internet is always true.

That's what I thought. Does anyone know if someone makes retrofits for our tundras?

Also with that being said, a ton of people run HID bulbs in housing for halogen bulbs. I'm sure you see it all the time on the road.
I'm not bashing that at all.

There are guys that do retrofits for a fee.

Spyder makes headlights with a projector in them. I don't know if that projector is for an HID bulb or halogen bulb though.

you definitely can't believe everything you read online but in this case what you're reading is true. the battle with led's isn't light output or overall brightness... it's containing light scatter. after having a set of led's before i decided to hold off on them for my current truck as they're basically disrespectful to oncoming traffic. just my opinion.
