Stayed and played golf there. Hilton Head is beautiful and expensive, haha. I work in Charleston from time to time. No escaping that heat, but you get use to it. What do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking Steve

I grew up in Beaufort SC about 50 miles up the coast. Breautiful area of the country..Hilton Head is about 40 miles north of Savannahh Ga and about 125 miles south of Charleston SC. The cost of living is a little higher because of the resort type of area. Blufton SC is slightly inland from Hilton Head and you may find a better cost of living and housing there.

Hilton Head is one of the nicer areas in SC. As stated above, you are also close to nice areas in N FL and other costal Carolina and GA areas.
Mosquitos are friendly. Roaches greet you daily. Humidity keeps you in shape and everything is as flat as a pancake.
About a million people from Jersey and New York move here a week and it is a great area for fishing or beach activities.

Also, the area is a bit of an older retirement area that has seen a lot of growth in the last few years. (Northern aggressors stopping short of FL).
Look into Blufton about ten minutes away. It’s still a bit undiscovered compared to HH. Not sure where you are coming from or if you need to worry about schools for kids, etc. Zero Two (the wife) is from the area and still goes almost weekly so I can get you real time intel on whatever.

Let me research the best school zone around there. Give me a day or two and I’ll post up results and local feedback.

Hold off , don’t waste any effort till I get the job , but thank you. I’ll post next week.

My real concern is finding a rental house that actually caters to a real renter vs a tourist

No need to research any further....I lived there for 10 years

HHI is great if you’re looking for a family oriented upscale beach community with lots of golf, retirees, terrific food, and humidity.

Bluffton is where the average folks (like me) live. The school districts are just as you would imagine; HHI has privileged kids bu a GREAT school system. Bluffton is more diverse and a step down in quality. The further from HHI you go the districts drop rapidly.

If you have any further questions feel free to shoot me a PM

This literally made me LOL... How many people know the exact day, especially if they were drinking tequila.

    Good luck on the position

I know the exact day but it is based on the day I get home from deployments overseas.
