Having never seen them I would imagine they are only meant for the standard cover, once the angled bezel is in play the diameter is bigger. I would think they would be too small.

I'm curious why you would disable the anytime fog mod. I haven't done it but I am considering it to keep them on with my high beams in case I ever need that much light.

I did mine the same way i did on my old tacoma. Bend a blade on one of the relay's and hook a blade connector to one end and ground the other. Only downfall my fogs are on permanently when i start the ignition. I have no control over them (on/off)

    New guy here.

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the OP MotoTundra and a few others who made this an easy decision for me.

I live in BFE, 200 miles from anything resembling an off road vehicle parts store or decent shop that could help with solving a problem such as the disappointing factory lighting on my '15 Pro. So I rely heavily on forums like this and especially the good folks who take the time and make the effort to post up great reviews, opinions, pictures and instructions that help me buy with confidence but, more importantly, DIY with confidence.

The aforementioned kit arrived at my door today and I'll try to add to this with pics and advice based on my experience once I get them installed but I don't have a garage and it's colder than a brass monkey's balls right now so it may be a while.

I noticed though, when I opened the box tonight, that BD has added a piece of adhesive backed foam and additional install instructions related to using it that I'm curious about and some of you may be too.

The foam square is apparently to be cut into 4 smaller squares and attached to the 4 corresponding (forward facing I think) tabs on one the mounting brackets.

I wonder if this is to address the shaking issue or perhaps to aid in aiming the beam.

Like I said, I'll try to post up again with my findings but thought that was an interesting addition to the kit that I hadn't noticed anyone mentioning.

Thanks again for the detailed install pics and instructions. Much appreciated.

Congrats on the purchase! I'll chime in before @Baja Designs tomorrow. The foam is designed to reduce vibration and provide a better fit and finish. If you have any questions on how it's applied, orientation, or anything BD related feel free to message them directly or post here and they will respond shortly :)

I'm glad it helped! That is the point of this forum! Please share your experience in this thread to help the next guy.

The foam square was not included in my kit so any info on that I'm sure would.be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum @Abel Sneed ! I'm curious how you came across this thread, google? I'm glad.you found it and it helped.

Congrats on the new light kit, can't wait to see pics of them installed. This weather is brutal, I hope it warms up for ya.

    No doubt! Impressive.

Thanks Bailey. Seems pretty straightforward but I'll definitely hit you guys up if I have any issues.

@MotoTundra I troll these forums as well as you tube a lot when I'm thinking about an upgrade or purchase or install or whatever. Your thread kept coming up in my google searches once I narrowed it down to a 3rd gen tundra fog light upgrade. Clear internet discussion/guidance winner on this topic in my opinion.

I'd love to do something with the headlights but couldn't get very excited about the options available or the pain in my ass and money involved to do so. This looks like a real good solution to my problem though. I don't drive a lot at night but when I do it's usually at high speeds on long, desolate stretches of 2 lane with no shoulder through mountains and desert without much traffic but plenty of deer and elk and snow and fog. It's a pleasant beautiful drive during day time but a sketchy and dangerous one without good lighting at night. I never had a problem with my '06 tundra or my '01 Tacoma on this drive but with my '15 Tundra it's borderline dangerous I'd say. Hard to believe for what I paid for that truck I'm spending over $300 to get some satisfactory and safe lighting.

Hopefully Toyota is listening to us?

    Thanks for your help guys.

Toyota put LED fogs in the 18's, so I think they are getting some hints!

I think the BD Squadron's will get the job done! Unless you do the fog light anytime mod (I haven't done it in my Tundra, not as simple as in my old Tacoma) you won't be able to use them with the high beams. Which Squadron's and which lenses did you go with?

I won't be doing the anytime fog mod. I went with the clear sport wide cornering. It's supposed to be 38* here today, pretty balmy for January so I might be able to install today if I can knock off work early. If so I'll take pics.

Ok, so I installed these bad boys today and, wow! I knew they were gonna be bright but I wasn't prepared for that level of brightness. Awesome lights.

Went for a drive after it got dark and I was totally blown away.

I took a few pics that I'll post up but I'm having some tech issues at the moment so those will come later. I'll share a few things that might be relavent for others doing this install.

First off, my Tundra is a 2015 CM Pro manufactured in December '14 and it had those damn blue clips. Those are somewhat of a pain in the ass and definitely prevent the install from being done without removing the splash guard in the wheel well. I'm really glad I learned about them first here or I probably would have damaged the housing.

The new foam pad addition to the tabs is interesting. I understand the concept but I'm not so sure about it. It makes the install a bit tricky (pics to come) and I fear that down the road it might cause some problems. We'll see.

Like someone else here posted I also had some fitment issues with the passenger side. Not sure exactly what the issue is but suspect it's related to cheap plastic sh*t from Toyota more than anything. It felt like I was mounting a well made, substantial piece of equipment to something not so substantial.

I went ahead and zip tied mine in but mostly to tighten things up rather than to prevent theft. Once you pull that housing and add the extra weight of these lights things don't go back together tightly no matter how careful you are.

Like @MotoTundra I also broke a clip removing the driver's side splash guard and I'm not super thrilled about that. I was able to fix it but it added time and frustration.

Over all a very straightforward install thanks to this thread and I'm more than impressed with the quality of these lights and the kit and certainly the output. It makes the stock headlights seem even more ridiculous.

    Pics coming.

I red neck engineered it back together with a couple of pan head self tappers. It'll work for now. It was getting cold and dark in the driveway and I couldn't see or feel my fingers so... desperate times call for desperate measures. Honestly though unless I remove that flap again It'll probably last forever.

I'm glad you like the lights. Those clips suck. Even after removing the fender liner I couldn't grasp how one could have removed it differently without it breaking. @BlueBottle did you post instructions somewhere on removing the fender liner?

You wouldn't happen to have the part number handy would ya? Haha

No. I think I just described it in someone’s thread. Have no idea where that is!

Nice. @dcsleeper408 this fixes your dilemma. Mount them at the stock fog location AND the ditch brackets!

Here's a pic of how the foam squares are supposed to stick on the tabs according to the instructions/diagram shown in pic (hard to see). You can see it's quite thick.

Approximately 3 times the height of the slot you have to insert it into.

It's tricky unless you have four hands. I found the best way was to come over the top with the slots and pinch the foam down while rotating the housing down into position and pushing the tabs through. Easier said than done believe me.

Here's what it looks like inserted. Now way to make it pretty or neat and clean, this is as good as it gets.

The foam makes tightening the OEM screw challenging but, as Bailey said, it should help with vibration. I believe that's true but have concerns about durability/longevity and what happens when the foam and adhesive get hot and cold and eventually break down and come out. Then you're gonna have some serious vibration issues I'm afraid because that OEM screw is gonna be loose. We'll see. I live in the perfect environment to test that (Dry and high 90's in the summer, 250" +/- of snow with lows down to 25 below in the winter, plenty of moisture, road salt, dust and mud too.

Anyway, here she is all tucked in.

Makes the factory headlights look pretty weak and dirty.

Before: Low beams with stock fogs.

After: Low beams with Squadron Sport

    Amazing difference.

I hope this was or will be helpful to someone. Feel free to ask questions.
