We live in the city and the wife wants parking sensors as she has gotten accustomed to the ones on the FJ cruiser. I think she's not 100% comfortable parallel parking the Tundra yet. Anyone successfully complete an OEM integration? Price is not an issue. I'm open to aftermarket as well as long as it's a quality solution but prefer OEM to be honest because of the audible tones.

I have a complete harness for the rear since I didn’t have holes drilled for the Expedition One bumper. I also have a complete front. I just haven’t pulled the bumper from the harness. I’ll be happy to send them your way. Not sure what else you might need.

Gorilla glue a couple Chihuahuas to the front and rear bumpers. Should work OK

I know it’s not what you’re asking but I have the sensors and the fronts are near useless. Rear are ok but not great.

You are not the first here to mention the issues with the fronts. Any ice on the front or rear makes them kind of useless too. I always thought the sensors are a "nice to have" but the biggest problem with certain nannies is that you become complacent and too dependent on them. IMHO. Sort of like relying on GPS as you drive of a cliff.

Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on your offer, however probably should dig around a little more to see if the PRO is prewired for the safety and convenience package first.

I agree about being complacent and I trust my parking skills, however trusting the wife not so much. Adding the parking sensors gives us both peace of mind.

I here that. I wouldn't mind having them. It's nice to have some back up help.

Originally wanted to do same as OP. May do front camera instead, but still want to learn more about the factory option for parking sensors and blind spot / cross traffic monitor.

If anyone has pictures of the pre-wiring (or actual wiring) for the safety and convenience package, I’d love to see them. I have 18 SR5 TRD and not sure what I’m looking for.

    Thanks!

I can’t believe the Pro didn’t come with parking senors, I thought it would be standard on the pro. I would think it’s pre wired.
Every Pro I’ve seen sir far has parking sensors.

My experience is different, my sensors work as designed..I thought the lift of TT Boss 3/1 might impact their usefulness, but it has not. I don’t rely on the senors 100%, but I find they do help a lot in when backing up in a busy parking lot, parallel parking. Or when some dumb ass is glued to their phone, head down in a walking dead zombie trance and not watching where they are walking while I am backing out the beast in a parking lot.

Most of the time just looking around as I back up AND using my mirrors and backup cam works.
I have an ARE Z topper, so my sight is limited vs no topper, the sensors help. FWIW..

Have you considered the FRAC harness and a front camera instead?

Sorry? You must be Canadian... ;)

My Pro has the sensors, but I leave them off for the most part. Just find they miss small or narrow objects, and the noise is more of a distraction than a help. Just me personally.

I had a set of aftermarket backup sensors installed for $230 and they are great . It starts beeping at 4-5' and hits a solid tone at 1.5' works great worth the $$ . It comes with a small speaker installed behind the A pillar cover.

Love my parking sensors all around my limited but hate that nothing is in the direct front. Getting ready to adda front camera to take care of that. Can't help with what to buy but do support it and think they are 100% value add.

@RowdyRon here is the link to Back zone plus (4 sensor) it looks like I paid more for the install than the product LOL . Audio Central in Jackson Ms does a great job and this is something I would not mess with on my own. It has already paid for itself 10x over . I did not get the digital readout , the audio tone is all you need .

Chihuahuas aren't as reliable as pit bulls. Glue a couple of those and you can park anywhere you damn well please.
