Toyota Care Plus

I got an email from the dealer i purchased the tundra from about Toyota Care Plus.


I purchased the longest year, shortest mileage warranty (cant remember the specifics), so i was already planning on having all maintenance done through toyota to keep things simple. The truck only has 3k miles right now, i'm wondering what some of you have paid for the 30k service (if it is indeed $189.00), and i'm guessing the 35k, 40k, 45k services are just oil changes? What are people paying at the dealership for an oil change?

 

$189 for an oil change, tire rotation and a "multi-point" inspection is ridiculous. Take $100 off that and I still wouldn't pay that for an oil change and tire rotation.

I think 30k is also trans fluid change

 

I don’t think that even gets a look until 100,000 miles.

 

Here’s the 30. Total rip off at that price. Both those filters can be had for 40 bucks.

 

Also, I have all manuals saved in my IBOOKS for quick reference if anyone is using an IPhone.

 

if i did get it, i guess i should tell them i tow heavy loads while driving on dusty roads.

 

Believe me, they will charge you for all of that. That price is for the basic..

 

I paid $250 for my last 30,000 mile service. It included front and rear dif fluid change, and transfer case fluid change with Engine oil and filter change.

 

I hate to say it....Stealership.

 

I have my local mechanic take care on my truck. fellow Tundra owner and retired Toyota master tech. I trust him a lot more than the guys doing oil changes at the dealer. Plus he is a lot cheaper than stealership.

Could you please take a picture of the fluids they used for your 4x4 service?

 

Valid point. When I go to change these I’ll want to use a good synthetic fluid.

I can't remember where I saw that but I thought it was really soon for it. Just saw the post above. I'm def not spec op my mall crawler so 1 less thing to worry about.

 

Per the maintenance card provided in the truck, Trans fluid is 60k miles if you regularly tow/haul a lot.

 

Yep Discount will do rotations for free even if you did not buy there

 

Unfortunately that was the SR5 that I traded for the Limited that I currently own. The paper work was left in the truck for the next owners. They typically don't allow customers in the service area, so sorry the brand type is a mystery to me.

 

brand didnt matter, actual fluid toyota PN is what I was going after...

I honestly believe what you prepay for are the "inspections" at x5.xxx mileage and then the basic oil change, filter change, tire rotation and complementary "vehicle" inspection - I would be hard pressed to believe that they cover the "additional" items on the larger services in this package.
