I have a hole in my washer fluid tank on my beater. It’s been 4 years... so I’m going to say with a little effort, you can go at least 4 years.

 

That’s cool it tells you, I didn’t know that.

Til nothing comes out from washer fluid tank.. I know a whole gallon of fluid won't fill to top...Semper Fi

At that temperature you'll want to put hot water to keep it from freezing....pro tip.

My washer fluid shoots right over my windshield and on to the windshield of the guy tailgating me in my work van. So I never let it get low.

Just a little FYI, having experienced myself. If your passenger sprayer starts to act up, like not throwing fluid very far, don't even bother with a nozzle replacement or sticking wire into it's orifice to unclog it. 99 percent of the time, it's the one way valve under the hood. Passenger side hose comes off of it as does drivers. When you pull lever to shoot fluid, and let go, the fluid will normally want to drop back into the container. This valve prevents that, so it's instant fluid next time you use it. What happens is that ball in that valve, on passenger side, get clogged up and stuck. Either use a 3 way nipple to replace, or order one. you're welcome.

 

I’d imagine you’d burn up the pump if it goes dry and you keep activating it.

The orange rainx fluid I’ve heard can mess up pumps and lines. I don’t use it, so I haven’t had experience with it. But I’m not willing to risk it since we’re sitting at -30° F this morning and have to get frozen road salt dirt off the windshield on the reg.

 

How far can you go? Right to your nearest auto supply store to buy a gallon and fill 'er up!
