Hey guys! Newbie here enjoying my very first NEW vehicle! '17 1794 Edition that I traded my Taco in for.

I'm looking for opinions and suggestions for some bright headlight and possibly fog light options. I've searched a bunch and while I love the look of the $400 retros, something a little more reasonable will probably be my best option short term if you ask the chief financial advisor (wife) . I've seen mixed reviews about LEDs but not a lot of feedback on the 2017s and if there is still the same amount of scatter as reported from earlier models.

Great option....but his pre-400 budget may be the hurdle in the way. PS I'm in the same boat, in the hunt for affordable Headlight options.

Like most say OEM LED lights or a quality HID conversion with Morimoto or Lexus components. If that isn't in the budget right now get some Osram Night Breakers or similar high quality halogen bulbs. I used the Osram bulbs in a Ram I had and they made a huge difference.

I wouldn't put HID or LED bulbs in a halogen reflector (what you have now), a lot of kits are junk, none of them have a sharp cut off and blind oncoming drivers. Besides that they are illegal. I know a lot of people use them but they are a PIA when you are on the receiving end.

Welcome Robert. The 2018 OEM leds are probably your most reliable headlight conversion. @iHacker makes a pnp harness too.
The best performing light I've seen so far is the Morimoto D2 4.0 projector, even better than the Lexus RX 350 IMO. (Retro fits)
Morimoto makes a nice affordable fog with a whiter color the better matches LEDs and retros.
Baja Designs makes some seriously bad ass fogs. @BaileyJ might be able to help you with those.
I've ALWAYS had problems with 2nd and 3rd gen tundra headlights having too much scatter and being frequently flashed by oncoming drivers.
If you put better bulbs in the OEM headlights I feel, from my experience, you're likely to make it difficult on oncoming traffic. just my .02

    Dang it!
Looks like I’m going to go with the 2018 LED conversion. Now, the fun part of selling it to the wife!

Thank for all of the suggestions. Love this forum!

Does anyone have an on/off comparison of the 2018 fogs at night? My 17 fogs seem next to useless as far as light output goes, haven't actually tried them in fog yet though.

If they're the same as the '16 they are pretty worthless.

2018 fog lights are LED if you also have the LED headlights. They are bight and match the color of the headlights, the pattern is typical for a fog light.....wide, low and maybe 15" out. You can definitely tell when they are on. Can't post any photos right now because I am on vacation in Germany.

    Merry Christmas.

Not 18s but I put Lasfit LEDs bulbs in mine and they are great now. Before installing LED bulbs I never turned mine on because I good not even tell they were on. I know some people say putting LED bulbs in stock housing is a no no but I am happy with them. Have not tried in heavy fog but in moderate fog they are fine. They really supplement the crappy halogen headlights. May not use as much now since I just installed LED projectors.

You wont be sorry you did that. It is a nice factory upgrade. and with OE lights the quality is there.
