As long as it supports the correct radio frequency you can buy whatever phone you like and insert the sim. My Pixel 2 is the unlocked version from Google instead of giving Verizon the money.

I've tried to switch away from them but there is no other provider that works in my area. All show coverage but the signal sucks.

It does make me feel slightly better that I'm still hammering them on data usage with 2 grandfathered unlimited plans, I think we're at 250gb for the month. Which is still their fault considering they were supposed to get DSL to us 10 years ago.

If you're looking to switch, I highly recommend the pixel 2. Liking it more everyday. My sister needed some help with her Galaxy s6 the other day And I couldn't stand using it. So much crap unlike the pixel.

I have a pixel 2xl and it is a perfect device for a diverse world. All the things I need at my fingertips without needing to give a CC#, retinal scan, fingerprints, and blood sample just to turn the thing on. No thanks CRAPPLE, we live in a free country last time I checked. They bank on the "Boogie man fear" if you leave their ecosystem you will lose everything and fall off the planet. Just leave and don't believe the shiney brainwashing of the forbidden fruit.

Basically, everything. It's an entirely different feel. The Pixel is using stock Android whereas Samsung uses their own layer on top called Grace UI/TouchWiz. You can tell they are both Android, but after that, they feel like different phones. Plus, the Pixel is on Oreo 8.1.

My wife has the S7 and I hate using it, I feel like nothing is where it should be and the app drawer is a hot mess. I had Motorola phones until they started locking everything down, the Pixel 2 is the first phone I haven't rooted mostly because I haven't had the time but also because is works well the way it is.

    Gus,

As others have stated, the Samsung was just full of useless apps, nothing was where you would think it would be and coming from an iPhone, it was tough to use unlike this pixel. I could not for the life of me figure out where her Google play store was. Ended up doing a search online and found it was disabled somehow. Then when I enabled it, the app was still nowhere to be found. After awhile I ended up finding it in some folder somewhere. It was not a good experience.
