Thought I would start a thread for those with little ones or expecting to share products, activities, events, places that you would highly recommend for the kiddos.

I think this would be good especially for those expecting to find out what works best. Since I am expecting my second in April thought I could get some ideas and help others out as well.

I will start out with the best crayons ever.
    P'Kolino Triangular Crayons
    [IMG]

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003153SCI/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_u4dqwb4BVDK2N

They do not brake like your typical crayola. Even other brands of triangular crayons don't hold up like these. Son has been using the same set for about 2 years or so. He is 3yo now. Hasn't broke a single one.

If you have a baby you should definitely get a tub of Aquaphor. Great for putting on red spots on the skin and face. Helps heal quick.

Of all the things we have for my little guy, he loves his Strider the best. He would occupy himself on it forever, keeping him active and learning balance. It trained my son and he was able to ride an electric dirt bike (OSET 12.5) with no training wheels a few months before his 3rd birthday.

Unfortunately he loves it so.much he doesn't want to switch to a pedal bike, I am going to have to "give away" the Strider so he has no choice.

www.Stridersports.com is where you can find them, though you may find cheaper on Amazon.

I highly agree with this. My son loves his. Got him out riding before he would have been able to reach the pedals on a bike anyway. He is 3 now and races that thing, balancing for long distances. He is the same way and doesn't want to switch to a pedal bike yet either.

    From the wife:

    That portable cradle we got!

    If breastfeeding medela electric pump
If formula feeding.. Electric formula mixer

    Dr. Brown Bottles

Double montior. << what she means by this,is I mounted his monitor above his crib, used some wire hiders (?) to nicely secure the wires against the wall, and baseboard. I have a monitor (Audio/visual) on her nightstand, and a portable one she can roam the house with that has a clip for a belt or whatever.

The baby bottles that really saved us were the Playtex Ventaire bottles. Helped reduce the amount of air swallowed drastically.

I will have to check out the Dr Brown bottles for our next one though as they are similar with the vent.

Carm swears by Dr Brown. I can check if we have any around if u want?

Also I would add a wipe warmer, and humidifier to the list. Babies seem to get sick where u can hear their congestion. Humidifiers work wonders.

Curious George is my recommendation for best young Childrens cartoon. It's not annoying or too babyish like most. It teaches right from wrong as well as curiosity, imagination, math, science, engineering and more. The best part about is that after the episode they show a class do an activity to teach something real world about what was shown in the episode.

Alright this one is a bit old school, but here goes. We read to our little ones a lot. We started reading to them from the first day we brought them home. I really do think it helps with learning, memory, and speech. It is all they know and because of the early routine they love being read to, for now anyway.

^^ agree. Both are read too constantly. My wife is a nerd, and at this point our daughter continues to excel in all classes (2nd grade and has tested at 4th grade math, reading) I believe reading had a big part in this.

It's never too early to start reading reading. I don't need to name the obvious reads that we are all familiar with, but 4 Wheeler, Toyota Owners mag, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, American Hunter, Scientific American, Nat Geo wouldn't hurt.

I have one of each. She was/is always gentle...him? Will toss things in the toilet, launch things off from the loft, more physical, etc lol.

Both are FUN and great though!

We are about to have our third, I could probably type for three pages on all the different activities for the different stages/ages they go through.

The ONE thing you need to have is an app called WONDER WEEKS. It is PURE GOLD!!! It will explain why your baby is going through fussy or clingy periods or why they are acting differently for some reason. It shows you the different mental development milestones they go through (they call them leaps) and what signs they'll show (fussy, clingy, etc), how to help them through it and what abilities they will have after. We didn't know why our son would go through random periods where he seemed to 'regress' until we found this app.

The only other piece of advice I have 'off the cuff' is to let them be outside as much as possible. As soon as they're about 3 months old and can sit up set a blanket down outside (weather permitting) and let them play/look around. My kids always seem more at peace outside.
