Has anyone else had issues with the Pre Collision warning code being activated for no apparent reason? My brand new Tundra keeps displaying the Pre Collision warning code & Brake warnings.

yep bank account is running low from it..
take it to the dealer and have a tech ride with you so they can confirm the problem, and get it fixed. could be something blocking the radar sensor why its tripping.

I dropped it off at the dealership three days ago and they said its a ecu sensor issue. Something to do with the airbag sensor and it could be more than two weeks before they get the part to fix it. So, in the meantime they are providing me a Tundra rental to drive. I haven't even owned two weeks , i'm just hoping that this isn't a sign of things to come since there are so many new safety options implemented on the 2018's.

Usually most of the issues on a particular vehicle will be found and fixed in the first year, so I wouldn't worry about this coming up now. You have an equivalent loaner vehicle while the Dealer fixes it under warranty.

Looks like I’m not alone. Mine has been at the dealer since 12/12 for the same issue. Under 3000 miles. They did provide a Tundra rental but it’s not the one I just made a payment on.
The part that bugs me is that I traded in a Tundra that in five years never had so much as a light bulb burn out.

    Update:
The Toyota dealership in FWB, Fl actually got the ecu sensor part in way ahead of schedule and replaced it the same day. It works like a charm now. From what I understand there has only been a handful of trucks with this issue. Maybe your dealership could contact the one in FWB and see exactly what part solved the problem if they are having issues with troubleshooting and/or to find out how my local dealership was able to get the part so fast. Hopefully this helps...

I cured the problem. I traded it back in for the last 2017 that they had.

I have an issue with mine. mine has to do with a loose trailer wire harness plug. They tried to fix it with electrical tape...didn't work the light just came back on today. They will be replacing the whole plug now. Been kinda a pain hope we get it all worked out love the truck but have had it for 2 weeks and this will be my third time to the dealer for this same issue. They put me in a Yaris the first time. That wont happen again.

I would drive the Yaris, and tell the dealership that since they have my truck they can cover the difference for my monthly payment on the tundra vs a Yaris. If they don't like that, then put me in a comparable vehicle.

My 2018 Tundra at dealer for sensor part since 12/23/17
New eta for part is 12/3/18. They say delay is change in part
Number that is improved over the old part.
They gave me a 2018 Camry to drive.

This is how you react to a situation that you know very little about. Grow up.
I need a truck that I can depend on.

Ok. Once I figure out how to add a video, I can show you my issue. Randomly, mostly in the afternoon, I will leave work or home. Then the PCS light will come on, and if I activate radar cruise, and set it, it kicks me out and throws a warning for radar sensor. My trucks stays immaculate. So go to dealer, and they can't pull a code. Told that if happens again, get to dealer with warning lights still active. So I try one day, but 1/4 mile away PCS and radar go normal. No codes. So I elevate this to service manager, showing hime the videos of it occurring as I was driving to the dealer. They of course can't do shit without a code recorded. So, I elevate it to the region. Have a regional tech coming down January 9th, who supposedly experiences the same thing.

Pisses me off, as my 14 never had an issue other than rear camera mount breaking. I feel crazy, suspecting the air port doppler radar may be causing it, or aliens. Lol. But I get the dumbest look from the dealer tech's since their computer doesn't show anything. Lol.

However, it hasn't happened in a few days since our temps have been below 50 or so. Wonder if having a sun shield up, and a warmer days is causing it. Dunno. But I do know I am not living with it.

I've pulled over and shut truck down to reset the systems, but one time it had no effect. It seems to last about 5 miles worth of driving, then rectify itself.

Hate it for you but hopefully they figure it out. I know it's scary to have a brand new rig with so much electronically that can go wrong. My fear is that once I'm out of warranty the sensors will start acting up again. Hopefully Toyota will make some exceptions if so. Could get expensive...By the way since the dealer replaced my airbag sensor the issues have gone away.

My tundra does it also. And sometimes flashes brake when nothing is in front. Coming up on first service so I'll mention it also

mine actually did the same thing during heavy rain just recently? truck only has less than 600 miles, tried to replicate what might of set the break alert to pop off but no success. Has not came back since, so i cant tell if it was bad weather that might of had something fly across the sensors or if its the same problem everyone is talking about.

Try to get to dealer with the light on. If they give you the deer in a headlight response. Call your regional. I had a regional tech check mine out. Of course no codes. But. He had dealer order new radar sensor up front. And flashed software update.

Same here 2018 tundra with precollison sensor dealership is thinking it's due to installing leveling kit on tundra 3/1 kit but no codes pull up I think it's another reason but would get a second opinion from different tech

I have a 2018 Tundra with 380 miles. This same issue has occurred twice in two weeks. Took it to the dealer, they could not find any errors in the computer log. Go figure??

So after calling Toyota directly @ corporate and dealing with my dealership were truck was purchased going on 3 weeks they decided they can't do anything due to having a leveling kit on my tundra and according to them the sensor has to be recalibrated but since it wasn' installed by them they will not work on my truck looks to me like Toyota is heading for a lawsuit so many issues going on with these 2018 tundras and There pre cllision sensor

What would they need to calibrate with radar and camera. Lol. The dipshit probably meant a zero point calibration for use sensor.

I have just recently purchased a new 2018 Tundra. I had the same issue every morning when I started the vehicle and left for work. I kept getting Collision System Malfunction and also Trailer Brake Error. When this happens, it ALSO disables the cruise control.

I called the dealership and the service department had no clue. Apparently this is a known issue just like the Air Bag firmware recall. I took it in to the dealer ship and they had to install a new computer module and also the YAW sensor. That took care of the problem.
