Yeah when we went to look at swapping her back to an iphone, we got a complete iphone fanboy. He was like, why did you switch to Droid in the first place?? Even told us if we got him the first time he wouldn't of let us change to Droid. Whatever dude.

Umm, that would have severly pissed me off. He would've probably been called a few names, that some would find offensive.

Question for people with the Pixel 2 or 2XL. Can you assign different text notification sounds to your contacts?

I bet the snowflakes that work at Verizon, don't even watch college football. They too busy complaining about the new flavor of coffee at the local Starbucks.

I did not know you could but it definitely looks like you can. I haven't been able to test it but I just set some of my contacts with different notification tones.

Yup, 3 dots in top right hand corner when you're in the conversation>people and options> notifications.

Pixel 2 and 2 XL are such great phones. You can't go wrong with either.

Thanks guys. Thats one of the features I wouldn't want to lose that I have on my Galaxy. I'm not looking to switch phones yet, but when I am I will give the 2XL a look.

The built-in messaging app didn't allow you to, you could have replaced it with about 500 different aftermarket apps that would have allowed you to. I usually use Hangouts as my messaging app - this is convenient for me because I also use it to pass info quickly back and forth with coworkers.

This is why Android is so superior to iPhone from a poweruser perspective. If something doesn't work the way you want it to it's almost certain that there is a quality app that can change that behavior.

Depended on the manufacturer and whatever messaging app they included but for awhile the stock Android messaging app didn't have the feature. You could switch to a 3rd party app like Handcent and get the functionality.

I didn't know I could have found that feature with an app.
The last time I looked for a good lock screen app, they all came with a bunch of extra crap I wasn't interested in or got sketchy reviews. It didn't matter for long since I gave up that phone and it's shitty network to switch back to at&t.

I wouldn't know. In 15+ years of running Windows, I've never gotten a virus on my computer.

apple are going to need a few new customers too to pay for lawsuits after they admitted they slowed down older phones to force people into buying new hardware, no sorry... to ensure a positive customer experience....

I wish it was an open market for phones like Europe. By whatever phone you want and use whatever provider you want with that phone. I'm so tired of Android and Apple. I'd switch back to a Motorola RAZR.

I'm with Verizon. I don't think it's possible with Verizon. Probably with ATT I could.

Literally wen't through this exact same situation last week. Had to trade in my iphone 6s because they made it so slow and the battery life went to shit.

Ended up with the iPhone X because I personally don't care for the androids and I have to say I am in love with the battery life. My 6s would be at 70% by the time I made it to work, my X is at 70% by the time I make it home from work.
