Hub centric wheels and those that are not, Is it that big of a deal or is it like wheel offset and wheel spacers debate where both have advantages and disadvantages over time, is it the same deal with hub centric wheels and those wheels that are not? Just want a straight answer since many people are running both type of wheels, thanks

All the advantages of hub centric wheels are for consumers. All the advantages of lug-centric wheels are for the manufacturers.

Hub centric wheels transfer the weight of the vehicle to the hub. With the center bore matching the hub diameter there's no room for the wheel to move up/down/side/side on the hub meaning it will stay properly centered even if a lug nut or two become loose.

With a lug centric wheel the wheel is centered on the lugs. This means all of the weight of your Tundra is also on the lugs, there is no point of contact to the hub to transfer any of the weight. Without having the center bore of the wheel matching the hub there is room around the hub for the wheel to move up/down/side/side and become off center and unbalanced.

If you opt for a "lug centric" wheel the best course of action is to add a set of hub centering rings to close that gap so the wheel has no movement and to help transfer some of the weight to the hub rather than solely relying on the lugs.

Thank you sir! Good wealth of knowledge, that’s why I love this page. There’s no good explanation using the search function here but you had it, thanks again!

I'll be learning from you guys as well. I'm familiar with the Tundras, but don't yet know some of the cool little details you learn over time.
