Clazzio seat cover question.

Installed my driver seat last night and love the feel and look of these covers! My question for those of you that already have them, where and how did you tie the string under the seat? Think I have a good spot but want to see where everyone else went.

 

I tied the string from the front to the string from the back. Haven't had any issues.

 

Ok good! What did you do in this area? Think I'm going to leave it hang over...but might tuck it too.

 

There were a few areas where I just had to do my best tucking it in and not let my OCD take over. But if that is the back of one of the front seats, I do not believe I had issues there. I was able to tuck it in.

 

Mine came with a little plastic tool. Use that to tuck the edges behind the plastic. I did the same as mdavis with the strings. Tied and tucked

 

Think I will tuck it, love these covers look like factory! Also just added my TRD shifter

 

How do you guys like the covers?

In my Tacoma I had the beloved TRD seat covers, which were awesome. For this truck the clean cloth seats make me nervous I'm going to get them dirty. I picked up some cheap Cabelas covers to use only when I know i will be filthy in the truck (mountain biking or dirt bike, etc.).
I know these would be expensive and more luxury looking, but they would also protect well and wipe up well.
Also, are these covers compatible with the side impact airbags?

 

I am good at trashing seats. Mtn biking in the summer, skiing in the winter. I had wet okole in my Tacoma and was really happy with the seats underneath still perfect after 5 years. When I picked up the Tundra in the spring I wanted leather but couldn't afford the catskins. Decided to give these a try and have been nothing but happy so far. The install was a bitch because the fit is tight and really nice when done. I've yet to have anyone notice they are covers and not stock seats. Worth it in my opinion.

 

I like my covers. Only a few places you can tell that they are covers and not real leather seats. As far as the side impact airbags, their website states the covers have no effect on airbag deployment.

 

Where did u buy your clazzio covers and how much? I would really like to do this.

I'd like to hear a review on the seat heaters they offer. Considering adding them. Need to do some research on other brands as well

 

I hear a lot of people say they are a pain to install because the tight fit, which doesn't make me to concerned. But what does is taking the seats in and out. How hard is this? or do you actually have to remove the seats?

 

You do not have to take the seats out. I did unbolt the back seats and moved them forward to make it easier but you don't have to. And yes it is a tight fit.

 

I tried that...ended up taking them out.

 

Anybody with a 2nd gen Crewmax have a tough time with the bottom of the console where it attaches to the seat? I can’t seem to get mine to look good! Any help would be much appreciated!!

 

The leather covers are amazing. I let my dog freely jump in and out of the truck with no scratch marks or damage to the covers. They look Factory and are beefy. I was worried before I ordered them but when you get them you’ll see how thick the leather is and how good the stitching and stuff holds together.

 

Don’t have to take the seats out. Just watch the videos on YouTube of how they want you to install them. Even if you took the seats out it’s very easy. Each seat has max 4 bolts on the floor, remove those and tilt seat so you can unplug the airbags and controls under the seat. (Unplug negative batt cable before messing with the seat). Then just remove it from the truck.

 

I got the ones they offer. I like them. Similar design to the others I’ve seen. You can stick them right to the seat cover which is nice. They were easy to wire but make sure you get the switches that fit your dash. I got the dual control switch and it was too big so I had to do some cutting. The led on the switch burnt out after many months and clazzio sent me a new one free. It works fine still. Also it was nice to be able to call clazzio for questions about wiring and amps required during install. All in all I love them. I got custom ones so I also bought insurance for 69 dollars that they will replace them within 3 years if I mess them up or my dog messes them up.

Got mine in today with seat heaters

 

I took my back ones out. The little seat is easy and so is larger one with 2 people. Install was easier with seats out.

 

I did all mine without taking the seats out so it’s possible just takes a little more out of you had to have an extra set of hands Velcro one of my seats tho. I did the back seats on evening then heated seats and fronts the next morning. Took about 3 hours or so.

 

Did you get the leather or pvc?
