Vibrations in seat and steering wheel

    Bilstein 5100s, Method Standard 18x9 +18 offset, 285/65R18 Toyo A/T2 Xtreme, trailer brake controller, bed liner, camper shell. All were on the truck at time of purchase.
    So I have a 2014 CM 4x4 with Bilstein 5100s and 285/65R18s and am getting vibration that i can feel in the seat and also the steering wheel. Its not terrible, just annoying and i want to take care of it in case its something causing damage to my truck. It kind of feels like the seat vibes are coming from the back passenger side and the steering wheel just vibrates left and right fairly fast when it happens. It doesnt make the truck drive crooked when i let go of the wheel or anything, but its pretty noticeable. They usually happen when merging onto the freeway and at speeds of 68+ mph, although i have noticed it in town on a couple occasions too. Ive been researching it and have come up with two possible options- 1. The wheels/tires are out of balance, OR 2. I need a carrier bearing drop. I would assume i dont need a CB Drop because im not lifted in the rear, but correct me if im wrong. Let me know what you guys think and if there could be something else going on. Ive put about 1000 miles on it since i bought it, and have noticed it since about a week or so after the purchase. Thanks for the help!

    A high speed vibration is usually a tire or tire balancing issue.

    Ok, that was kinda what i was thinking. Just wanted to get a confirmation before i go spend $65 at Schwab to get my tires rebalanced. Thanks

    Make sure it is Road Force balanced.

    What tires are you running @Ccrames ?

    I plan to buy some KO2's soon enough and I think I'm going to pay extra for the road force balance right from the get go.

    I have the 285/65R18 Toyo A/TII Extremes. Theyve been great so far, had them for a while on a first gen tacoma before i sold it , but never got down past 80% tread life so i cant attest to the wet weather traction once the tires are worn. It seems most people dont care for them in the rain after they get worn down a bit though...

    Gotcha. I know certain tires are known for having trouble balancing.

    Maybe a wheel weight fell off or something?

    Im thinking about going with the Cooper STT Pro if i decide i dont like the Toyos after a while. Hopefully theyll do fine in the rain but thats my only concern with them honestly. I do like the look of the A/T a bit more than an M/T just because they look a bit cleaner, but you cant argue with the off road performance of an M/T. I just hate the weight of Toyos and Nittos, which otherwise would be my first choice. The Cooper STT Pro's measure out a bit bigger 32.9 vs 32.6 x 11.8 vs 11.5 and still only weigh 5 lbs more in the same size as my A/Ts. The Toyos and Nittos are both 10 or so pounds more per tire.

    I bet it was a weight or two when i went to do some light offroading the second day i owned the truck;)
