I ordered a set of black rhino wheels from discount tire direct. I kept them packaged up and had them mounted and they're on the truck. I just noticed a couple small nicks in the paint in a couple places around the edge of the lip, most likely love taps from UPS in shipping. They are tiny, really nothing noticeable and I probably couldn't even take a picture of it. My only concern is if a couple nicks or scratches will effect the aluminum or the rest of the paint. Aluminum doesn't rust like steel, but it can oxidize. I really don't think it's worth a claim with discount tire because it's so insignificant, plus I already mounted them. Should I worry about it? Maybe some touch up paint to protect from oxidation?

You'll be fine, over time they all get some small nicks, even just from debris on the road. Your biggest problem is that the nicks were probably made by whoever mounted the tires on the wheels, not during shipping, so you would have to prove who actually nicked the wheels and I doubt that you would get Discount to accept that they were damaged during shipping and not during mounting. Now if Discount tire installed the tires on the wheels, then by all means you have the right to complain as they were the last to put there hands on them.

    I agree.

Some touch up early on should keep them looking great for the long haul. I doubt anyone besides you will ever know they are there.

You're right no one will notice. You have to squint with the sun at the right angle and be about 6 inches away to even find it. The only thing i was concerned with was corrosion.
