Hey!

Hi Folks,
Brand new just now. Shopping for a larger truck. Currently own an 05 Tundra, and am considering a used 5.7L Tundra, 2010-? I'm REALLY turned off by the advertised EPA on them.
How do these trucks really do for fuel consumption?? Anybody???

Thanks, that's kinda the bad news I suspected. Otherwise do you like the truck? I have owned 3 T.Trucks and loved all of them. Currently have the 05 Tundra Limited, but looking for an upgrade. Scared of that mileage though. . .

About 13 here as well on 35's in all honesty all gas full size trucks are going to sucks for MPG they may say higher but you have to drive like a grandma to get those numbers. My foot is about 90 lbs and I only get 2mpgs less then on my sticker I'd say that's good.

 

if you keep your truck stock you'll probably be closer to 15 mpg combined. I get over 18 mpg driving 65-70 mph. If you buy a Ford F-150 and was lucky enough to get 18 mpg and drive 12,000 miles a year I think you'll save about $400 a year at current gas prices. So in 5 years you might save $2000 with the ford but you'll spend $4000 in repairs. So you're actually saving money with the Tundra.

 

MPG sucks, but not any more than other trucks. Their advertised mpg is misleading because it's usually for the lighter configuration, smallest engine, etc. Talking to other brand truck owners, I have yet to find one with actual stellar mpg. If you need a truck, get it, not based on mpg claims, but based on the capability. After all, that's the reason you buy a truck in the first place.

 

Large 4X4 truck with 381hp stock 5.7L motor, w/4.30 rear gears = who cares about mpg? (and able to drive the best truck out there). Just saying Semper Fi
