What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I had the bulge and grill surround vinyl wrapped last week on my 2018 sr5, the black insert in the bulge was plastic welded to the chrome, and the insert in grill was also welded to the surround, so he didn't take it apart, said this was a change he hadn't seen before. so be careful on what you try to take apart.

 

The 18 SR5 grill must be assembled differently compared to the 18 Limited grille. Did you actually see the plastic welds for yourself or did they just tell you that?

Were you able to trade/sell your wheels? I have a brand new set sitting in my garage off my 18, but not sure what to do with them

 

My local Craigslist, Offer up and face book marketplace is loaded with the SR5 wheels, everybody is asking to much, listed mine with 9000 miles for 200.00 no TPMS and no Lugnuts ...

"installed" a cheapo led flashlight with swiveling magnetic base under the bed cover and just to have a flashlight handy. $3.83 from tractor supply.

Feel I've had enough time to review. I put headlight revolution gtr led kit for the Tundra in my pro lights and paired them with Baja designs squadron sports in amber wide corner and fog pocket kit. Haven't been flashed as of yet and couldn't be happier with this combo. I drive around with both on at night and use the s8 on a separate switch for highbeams. Where before I had to drive with finger on switch going back n forth to see, I can now see great without the s8. For $183 the low beam light is insane. Not that impressed with the highs, they shine further but don't seem as bright as lows. For me to be able to use all 3 at same time it's literally like driving in daylight.

 

Like I said, just posted on build thread a bunch of various output shots showing the addition of light from each product. Just to give a taste of what I mean as you look at each picture moving down each shot, if you zoom in on each pic you can tell the difference of throw distance. Otherwise, just scroll down each shot as I turn another light on, I think the addition of each light is quite noticeable. Keep in mind, pics don't even do these lights any justice. Looks cool as hell. How's it function, same? Do you have factory remote start by chance? I'm curious if you lose any functional aspects, like less distance ect. I'm a big fan of the look.

I remember a while back he was making them from metal and they looked killer, but I think due to the fact they were made of metal I think he stopped b/c the fobs were having issues functioning. Don't quote me on that, but I think I remember that being the case.

I'm guessing by going back to plastic, the functions, I'd assume work the same? I want to get 1 soon but just want to be sure the factory remote start works the same or better as oem. That and door lock/unlock.

Anyone can chime in, and it's a plus if they have the fob and factory remote start.

Hey for those that don't like reading there's always the route of just looking at pics. Half way thru I make it lil easier to read lol.

Page 6 near the end has the gtr lighting kit pics. I got the kit for $183 which is pricey just for led bulbs, but man are they bright. I went in looking for the best I could find for the money low beam since my s8 I use as high.

I'm very confident I made the right choice and can't imagine any other, just led bulb being as bright with a great beam pattern/cutoff. I'm very impressed and pleased with this upgrade, especially for only $183 when compared to 18 leds, retro, ect.. They actually outperform 35w Hid's. The lowbeam lux is insane on them. Hope u enjoy the thread, 1 day I'll clean it up n make easier on the eyes. I did have good intentions of helping others with the thread.

 

Craigslist for cheap or try calling some used car lots who sell a fair amount of trucks. Sold my old toyo 35s in like 2 days 400 bucks.

 

Searching for that tank right now. Am not a fan of the small tank. Awesome upgrades.

 

First of all, nice truck!!! Second, thanks for the feedback and pics... I was really skeptical about the gtr LED replacement bulbs for the headlights... didn't want to be flashed by oncoming drivers. I think your info helped me decide to go with them when I need to replace my bulbs. Thanks!

 

no I don't have remote start but I have tested the range and it has not changed I can still lock my truck from across the parking lot that was a big factor for me I didn't want to lose the range from the oem that was why I never got the metal one that and the price was way to high but these plastic ones are really nice and reasonable prices i would recommend it and get some decal inserts really make a difference there are plenty of color options

Recon license plate led frame. Have been through every generation of the vleds LPF and they all have crapped out on me so thought I’d give this a try. Evening photo attached.and yes I know I have a burned out license plate light, waiting for a replacement to come in the mail.

Thanks. I ended up ordering straight from Transferflow during their Black Friday sale. They were great to work with and got it shipped quickly. I was very impressed with the quality of the tank and everything fit and installed very easily. It will be nice to have the longer range and to be able to choose when to fill up while on long road trips.
