Wolverine was originally really short in the comics. That was the biggest complaint when Hugh Jackman was cast. Too tall and slim.

Oh trust me, I was pleasantly surprised with Jackman and ledger! Thanks to unnecessary typecasting proven wrong, I’ve learned to suppress my opinions until after I’ve seen them in action. Radcliffe may do well and wouldn’t mind giving him a chance. Just saying it would be difficult, although not impossible

It’d be interesting to see. Hardy would be good also. Not sure either would want to commit for the long term contract it would require.

I imagine we’re a couple of years from it even being brought up though. I’d think anything they do won’t happen until after Avengers 4.

I"m already hearing they're getting started right after avengers 4, going as far as to cancel a lot of these upcoming movies coming out of Marvel (e.g. Gambit, Dark Phoenix, etc) Even heard Deadpool 3 is being put on ice. I don't know how much of these are true, but I would imagine disney would want to get started asap.

With Star Wars alone they were gonna be beyond worldly rich, and now that they've got Fox Studios...it's ungodly the amount of money they're gonna make.

Well, they paid 52 billion for Fox. George Lucas sold them Lucasfilms for 4 billion (which was reported as being WAY below market ). They’re doing ok.

Once they acquire He-Man, GI Joe, and the Transformers, they will effectively own my childhood.

I imagine the first glimpses will come in some after-credits scenes in the next couple of years. Probably quick shots of villains, like they did with Thanos.

Very possible or even as small as mentions of the “x gene”, astronauts getting hit by cosmic radiation, etc in upcoming movies.

The Infinity War storyline pretty much gives them the ability to reset anything they want. They can ignore any continuity errors, like why the X-Men haven’t been mentioned before. I think that’s why comics in general have these major events every few years, so they aren’t constrained by all the years of history to keep track of.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all shakes out even beyond the comic book stuff. Disney now owns both ABC and Fox, ESPN and Fox sports, etc. I’m curious as to how they handle it.

Deadpool isn’t the only controversial content they’ll have to figure out. Family Guy, American Dad, etc.
Even Married With Children reruns are theirs now.

Had no idea they owned ESPN & Fox Sports. Those two portray two separate competitive entities in the public eye lol.

Disney lost its child-like innocence ages ago... they should just dispense with the antiquated notion they're a family-friendly only company and get on with keeping great entertainment alive.

I thought that I heard this morning that Fox Sports was not part of the package with Disney? I could be wrong on that.

They are killing Star Wars!!!! I'm so aggravated to the point I'm not even going to see it. I will watch it on tv. If it is as bad as the force awakens, I'm gonna lose my mind. Hahaha.

Exactly. Since Disney is starting it's own streaming service and is pulling all of it's shows/movies from other services.

Lucas killed Star Wars when he did the prequels and used nothing but CGI instead of practical effects like the first trilogy. He then pissed on the grave when he went back to the first 3 and "remastered" them with more CGI bullshit scenes that did nothing but look like shit.

I hate to say it but Disney saved it from him fucking it up any more.

this. my wife used to work for them. first at feature animation (she's in the credits as a PA for pocahontas and hunchback) then at the park in anaheim. that place isn't all it's cracked up to be. the only good thing was that we could go to the park for free. super handy when our kids were little. i don't know too much about Iger but Eisner was an ass.

I have to agree and disagree. I agree he should of never remastered the original and Episodes 1 & 2 were bad. I will go to bat for Revenge of the Sith. Outside of the cheesy dialogue between Aniken and Padame it was action throughout and one of the best lightsaber battles ever. Disney hasn't saved anything. Force Awakens sucked and reading some reviews.....i don't use reviews as a gauge, but some are pretty legit. The Last Jedi looks to fall flat. :duel:

So now that they've acquired rights to more superheroes, are we stuck with nothing but superhero movies for the next 10 years? Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with a super hero movie now and then. Except Batman. He's not a superhero.

But I feel like lately that's all Hollywood have been turning out. I also don't like how they're merging them all together into a single universe. That said, I never was a major comic book fan so I don't know if that actually happened.

Superhero movies are fun, but seriously cliche. Bad guy tries to take over the world, Good guys meet up and decide to whoop his ass, bad guy looks like he's gonna win for awhile, good guys go through an existential/moral/love crisis, bad guy makes a mistake, good guys get their shit together, bad guy loses.

I want to see more epics, war movies, adventure movies, new stuff with clever dialogue and interesting story line.

I'd love a sequel to Master and Commander. That was a major cliffhanger to end on. Some movies based on books by Patrick Robinson or Clive Cussler would be nice. Sahara was a great movie and based on a Cussler book.

Marvel has 20 movies lined up so yes we will be inundated with Super Hero movies for the forseable future which is fine by me. Marvel has their shit wired, DC does not plain and simple. As for Star Wars, Rogue one was horrible, I turned it off after 30 minutes, The Force Awakens was ok up until Han bit it and i'm being generous with the ok. Jar Jar Binks had better monologue than Kylo Ren and did a better job of acting IMHO. It was like watching a space version of Full House but without the comedy.

I do agree Lucas should have left the movies alone or made his changes and labeled them a revised or directors cut which is what they were at that point. The only issue now is will Disney release the originals and if rumors are true they may not be in good enough shape to release them or remaster them. Last I read they were pretty much toast at this point...
