    Hi guys!

So I just purchased a rtt and need a bed rack. Its for my 2016 crewmax. I'm looking at the all pro off road pack rack or bay area metal fabrication bed rack. Any opinions on what one I should get?
Or if you recommend something else please let me know. I'm not a fan of the low profile racks. So I want something near cab height.
    Thanks!
Blue has the all pro rack
    Mgm has bamf rack

    Have you checked out @RCIoffroad?

Their rack is pretty solid. @Almaboy has it if you need info on it.

It’s definitely more low profile but exactly what I was going for. After all, are you really going to need all that extra space underneath? If you’re doing much off roading you might wanna get some others’ feedback on whether they are going lower to the bed or sitting high up. I want a lower rack but some want more room

@dcsleeper408 can chime in on the BAMF rack.

edit: FWIW....I have all of my recovery gear, an RTT, and I can stand on it (200 lbs), and another guy my size without ever feeling like it’s stressed

    The bamf rack is awesome!!
I am still able to see through the rear view that was a big plus for me. Sheer quality is what the bamf rack is.. a little heavy especially with a ruggedized model on it, but very worth it. I also like it because I can position my tent(Autana ruggedized 3p) to deploy any which way I want without repositioning the rails on the tent..I use it all the time to assist my self up on the bed/rear tire/and stand on it to get a good vantage point when needed. I have the older style accessories on it, but if u get it I recommend getting the universal plates-countless mounting options.
My rack was a defected rack that was jigged up. So it’s not the best of the bunch but it gets the job done.. I’ve seen a handful of bamf racks in person from Tacoma’s-Tundra and they all come out good!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback. I'll most likely go with the bamf. Reason why I wanted a cab height one is to possibly haul my kayak or stuff across the bed and cab.

Voodoo is coming out with one that can be cab height or lower if you want. I have sent emails to them because I am going to be using something to move 2 sot kayaks. Should be a thread about it with pics that was on here about a week ago.

We have two full height height options for you. Both can work with tonneau covers, or without.

Both can be shipped right to your door.

This is our URTC (Utility Rack for Tonneau Covers)

And this is our full height Premium Rack

@jlee over with BAMF or @kb-voodoo would have my vote. While I have a BAMF rack, so I can say directly it's awesome, I've also used other products from KB and they were also great.

    Here's some photos!

This time around nothing on the inside. We made sure the side "flaps" I guess covered where the zipper would attach the annex and nothing got in. We had a small pool above the annex that we poured out in the morning, but the dogs and such were dry by the morning.

It rained consistently pretty hard from about 10pm until about 4am when I last remember still hearing rain.

    I'm in the same boat,

I want something light weight but durable, also low pro. Originally looked into the BAMF low pro...but the weight is killing it for me.

Another option, is just get some bed cross bars. Easy and relatively in-expensive when compared BUT your then limited to only the RTT being mounted without many options/space for other gear.

Looking now into KB, RCI and the like.

One thing that has me worried is, smaller mounting point at the bed rail...iv been coming across some info on bed sides (sheet metal) cracking from stress. One person in particular right now is dealing with Front Runner in these regards (Tacoma owner) and they don't seem to care about the damage to the owners vehicle...

*when I mention low pro, id like to try to keep the top of the tent as close to flush with the roof as possible.

Damn that looks good. If that rack worked with a Bakflip, I'd be all over it. My wallet is happy that it doesn't.

We haven't seen a single instance of that.

Our 10" high rack puts an RTT flush with the top of the cab.

Hey guys so I received my bed rack today. I have a roll up tonneau cover I'm gonna try and keep on. I'd like to state I do not have bed rails. Is there a way I can still mount the bed rack on without getting bed rails or should I order bed rails/deck rails?

Tough to answer without knowing what rack you bought.

FYI: Ours allows the rack to mount with or without the deck rail option.

Took 2 minutes to install lol

Super nice rack! I did a lot of homework and felt the BAMF to best suit my needs/wants and dilemma in regards to mounting design.

Now to find some special bolts that require a "key" or special socket to help secure it a little more.

Any idea how I can mount it to my bed without the deck rails?

I could bolt it on but I don't want to mess up anything

Does it line up with the bed rail holes at least? Maybe you can just run a washer and bolt it straight into the bed?
The cover might work if it’s velcro-you cut it around the tube and just add Velcro along the main plate.. just wouldn’t be a good seal if that did work out.

Sorry I really don't have much of any idea on how to mount it without the rails. As you know it mounts via the T slot nuts so if you can come up with something similar to that and isolated in a specific position in the bed then you can do that.

Is there a reason you wouldn't want to install the deck rail system? I think you were saying because it has something to do with the tunnel cover you want to keep?

    This sounds a little hokey....

If the rack you ordered is bare metal you can have a local fabricator make tubes that would run to the bottom of the bed floor and then you could use a plate to mount it to the bed bolts...

I think that sounds confusing the way I wrote it
