Thats the headunit i might swap the tesla radio for i love the moster screen it comes with but to much tech for me so looking at the kenwood

 

If u decide to sell the telsa unit we can maybe meet somewhere between ny and nj. Fyi, the dap tune is def worth it. Mine keeps getting better as I put on more miles everyday. It was worth it already many miles ago, but each day I drive it gets better. I'm guessing I'm pretty sure it will be plateauing soon though. I can't see it getting much better than where it's at now, but I also thought that a week ago.

Please post the part number(s) for what you are using as a remote start. You did say it will work with the current H-Key on you 2018 and no additional remote fob is needed? Please let us know if you are still able to open the door with the OEM remote once the truck is running.

I really don't feel like waiting much longer for an OEM remote start to come out........its getting cold here now.

 

i had these on my truck.. i thought they were great new but got soooooo loud as they wore.. GREAT performing tire though. wish they were quiet.. my wife hated them because of the noise

 

That's really odd, I actually had them on two trucks and they were really quiet.

Got my King coil overs and upper control arm and steering kit installed, now just waiting for powder coating guy to get the brackets done powder coating

 

My installer has had several conversations with the idatalink techs. The ability to do it is there....just sounds like Toyota changed a bunch of wiring configurations in the 18 and it’s just a matter of running the correct wires down. I will report back later tonight once it is done how it turned out or any issues

I am sure there are many 2018 owners who want a fully integrated remote start which works with the H-Key with integrated fob. I was looking at the Fortin Evo One but was told by the seller that it is a hit-and-miss with the key remote functionality (remote will not open the truck once it is running).

You can keep OEM gps antenna since every tundra 2014 - 2018 have already antenna for GPS. Definitely no need to add aftermarket antenna. I did use OEM tundra antenna. Trust me on this

 

That seems to be the current issue....seems like the wiring schematics are slightly different between the different trim levels...sr5 vs limited etc....or so I’ve been told.

 

so it was delivered yesterday i didn't get a chance to open the box and check it out i was so busy yesterday maybe i will have time today after work

 

Finally got my TRD grille and Hood Bulge in, painted the Toyota red and installed everything....maybe I'm done now??? NAH!!!

 

How did you do it? Is there an wire that connects or some plug needed? Thanks

 

well I hope you have better luck than me, lets just say that. once I get everything worked out, ill make a thread with an update. good luck on your install, there are no videos or PDFs on how to install the grill, so be very cautious and take your time.

ill tell you now that I still have my stock grill on, that'll give you a hint about how the night went last night

 

Once you buy aftermarket Kenwood unit below is what you need and all will perfectly work without any problems. You factory GPS antenna is behind your OEM radio and its plugged to your OEM unit even if you don't have navigation just standard head unit.

You will need a Sat xm radio module. You can get that cheaper on Amazon sxv301 is the model you need. This is only if you want XM Sirius radio

 

Did you mask off the area and spray it with a rattle can?

 

Not today, but had a busy weekend. Installed:

-Transferflow 46 gallon replacement tank
-BAMuffler 8" system
-BD Squadron Sports

The BAM and the fogs were very simple installs. The Transferflow tank took about 4 hours for a buddy and me to install but was actually a lot simpler than expected.

 

wow I didn't think it would be that difficult but I guess I was wrong did you ever ask @boardude how he went about installing his grille maybe if he sees this comment we will chime in

 

4.5 bds coil over and P&P sliders

 

There are videos for the grille removal on youTube. You have to be a little careful removing the actual grille insert from the surround so you don't break the tabs. It took me maybe an hour to replace surround and bulge.
