I did that accidently on ranch road. I was not going nearly 25. No grinding or noise and did not actual go in reverse. Only way I knew was camera came on. I use the manual shift on hills on ranch especially going downhill.

Today I learned that even when the key isn't in the ignition, the cigarette lighters are wired in such a way that they can still distribute a current.

    Huh?

    Let me explain...

I have this little battery powered LED work light that I use for work and charge on the drive to and from work. I keep the charger plugged into the rear center console cigarette lighter power port (CLPP). Today after work I got in my truck and plugged the light in, it still had power in the battery. I then plugged my phone into the front CLPP charger that I use (USB aux is for my Ipod) in front of the shifter. My phone then started to charge. All this before I put the key in the ignition.

This could be a handy trick if you find yourself in an emergency situation, although highly unlikely, of your truck battery and phone battery being dead but you have something battery powered, i.e. light, laptop, ipod etc. to draw power from.

I wonder if it was triggered ON by your getting into the truck, the way that the interior lights do and then eventually times out. If I'm doing something around my truck and leave the door(s) open, the puddle and interior lights will stay on for about 20 minutes or so then turn off until I open/close a door. I wonder if this might be the same for some of the outlets, I've never thought to see what any of mine do.

None of my CLPP work without the key in and ignition on. Gets annoying when I'm in Baja and my race radio and GPS turn off every time I get out of the truck.

I was confused for a second, now I think I understand. The charge that remained in the work light battery was available to be distributed via the other charge ports when the work light was plugged into one of them. That's fricking cool. I'll have to try to see if mine has this ability as well.

So, can I listen to "Her" concession speech over and over?
Yep, that is a bit annoying. Mine seems to adjust at only 35 mph, so it is constantly making this robot sound. I guess I could just turn up the music...

That would work if my radio was decent. The JBL system is so weak. I'm always cranking up the volume.

When you hold down the button to turn on cruise, it allows you to use cruise without radar. Found this out while traveling from DC to NC today as the nasty weather kept TSS from working.

Found out the other day that each source for the HU has its own equalizer. I originally set the EQ up when listening to XM radio. Didn't realize i needed to set it for each source.:anonymous:Well....it helped a bit but, as you all know, a sound upgrade is a much needed MOD.

    Still rocking the stock height.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. My boys love to play with buttons so I have to keep it locked for when they are in the truck. Hate having to remember to unlock the windows just for me to roll them down. Never had to do that in other vehicles that had a window lock button. Wonder if that can be changed?

My Tundra has glass breakage detection for the alarm. Which is important here in the Bay Area since SF makes breaking into cars like a parking ticket now. So there are THOUSANDS of car break-ins around here.

Wait! This seems backwards, wouldn't you want the fat ones to jump out?! No big lift for me...

Anyway I was wondering what this wire is for? What does it do?
I’d leads to this circle on the other side.

Like adjusting your rear view mirror or adjusting your navigation screen from light to dark depending on how dark or light it is outside. Don't think it does anything for the headlights
Edit: if you have the auto option on your headlight column and leave it on auto the lights should turn on and off by themselves depending on how dark it is

    Ah ok gotcha, thank you.
Must be for my rear view mirror cause I don’t have navigation nor auto option on my headlights.

Almost certain that is the sensor for the auto lights. @eledobleu did a write up on how to add auto headlight function. Maybe he’ll chime in.
