If this is the wrong place to ask this, sorry

    Dumb question,

If I order the front and rear Bumper end caps from Roman or Sparks Toyota to replace the chrome ones on my 2017 Tundra, will they still be steel/metal caps or will the ordered ones come in plastic.

2nd, If I just remove my chrome ones to have them powder coated or Line-X'd do I need to buy any other parts after I reinstall them.

I know if I buy the ones from Sparks or Coolsprings Toyota on the rear caps I heard I have to replace the metal brackets behind the caps as well plus the screws and other parts for the reinstall.

So if I just remove the metal chrome ones to have painted or line-x'd for the reinstall is that all I need, no other parts!

here is a thread that shows you must replace the metal brackets behind the rear end caps, meaning taking the whole rear bumper apart, hope I'm making makes sense.

    Thanks

No need to buy anything if just spray your metal end caps. If you order new color matched end caps I'm pretty sure you can only get 'em in plastic and you'll need some additional parts for the rear. (Not sure exactly what). I switched to plastic front end caps and didn't require additional parts but my fog light housings bounce around like crazy and drive me nuts.

    Thanks

I was going to order them painted but over $1400 for front and rear seem a bit high, I'll probably take just the caps off and have them powder coated or Line-x'd if I could get a less ridged line-x spray on them unless they only have one setting to spray them!

$1400 does seem like a lot but I guess the painter's gotta make some money. Maybe it's just me but I really don't like the stock bumpers. They just seem kinda cheap and flimsy. Luckily I've damaged both front and rear offroading, gives me a nice excuse to replace 'em with aftermarket.
