2017 Crewmax sr5. The fan is weak. Any mods or aftermarket options to make it more powerful?

Weak? In which mode? If I have mine in just the upper vents it is strong. If I put it to the floor its much weaker and still trickles out the upper vents.

I would check the cabin air filter for a rats nest?

    I guess it's all relative.

If it is weaker than other Tundras it should be covered under warranty. If not, I don't know of any fan blower mods. You could be the guy that comes up with one though!!

I agree its very weak. I also hate that if I have it on the floor or defroster mode it blows out of the main vents. I closed the back vents (crewmax) and still very weak.

I don't know what you guys are comparing to but my 2016 kicks ass in the a/c department. I live in Florida, and often times the lowest fan speed gets chilly. I never even need the fastest fan speeds.

I have the dual zone auto climate control and the fan seems pretty strong, I usually override the auto function and set the fan speed to TWO. I think it is normal that the dash vents always put out a little air.

Did you check that there actually is a gradual increase as you turn the fan speed to the different levels? Maybe there is a problem with your switch or the resistor unit. I would take it to the dealer or at least compare it to another truck.

Ive felt that too. I wonder if it does that as to give the truck and cooling system time to warm up before giving you full port heating.

Usually just having the outside air blow through the vents works for me, 99% of the time I have my window down anyways

I agree it sounds like you might have a defective fan. Do you know anyone else with a late model Tundra? Even setting in one at the dealership should tell you what you need to know after fiddling with the controls for a bit.
My 2015 will about give you a tan with the heater on high and the AC fees like a meat locker on cool.
Let us know what you work out.

Honestly don't think it's defective I just think it's weak. I owned a 2004 4Runner and it was weak too. Same thing in a 97 corolla, weak. Now my wife's wrangler, strong as hell. I'll try the under seat vent thing, and I also always use the recirculate air setting and pull air from inside the cabin. Haven't tried it with it off now that I think about it. The AC is cold and heat is hot, that's not the issue. The issue is the velocity of the air coming out of the vents is weak.

It must be a design problem. It finally got cold enough to use my heater this week. When I stopped, I had to get out and stick my hand under the dash to verify there was actually air coming out. Pathetic. The heater in my Chevy blows so hard you can feel it through your clothes.

    Check your cabin air filter.
Mine. Although a 2nd gen, the filter was seriously clogged

    Replacing filter this weekend...

Mine is pretty weak as well. Mine even blows when I have it turned off. I barely feel anything out of the rear vents on the center console. I think it's just Toyotas choice is blower fans, probably too weak.
