image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Took a nice fat doe at 7:55 this morning off my back deck. Excalibur 380, a fine very quiet precision hunting Xbow. Heart/lung shot, very quick kill. Off to the processor and soon in the freezer! All within an hour. Most city folk think meat comes from the store, nooooo, our meat is grass fed.

image.jpg image.jpg After a successful white tail season here in Western NC harvesting (6) deer we decided to give our backs a break next year. Hauling or dragging deer got old, we pick up a 15 Honda Rincon to get the job done. Our trail cams tell us we may have a few nice buck around come next season.

Pretty badass. I was looking at getting an ATV but my wife has an obsession of getting a horse. I guess a horse is about the next best thing.

Are cross bows and reg bows considered the same class, same season?
    Which has longer range?
    Better accuracy?

Depends on the state, most states you can't use a crossbow unless you have a disability, but in some states like VA they are fair game and are treated just like a regular bow. As far as accuracy and range, I think crossbows can get out a nice ways further then a compound bow and you can get scopes for them too, but I would assume compound bows get better penetration due to the momentum of the longer/heavier arrow.

I have come to realize that hunting is the worst possible thing for my truck. Every time I go out I get a new battle wound. Last time I went out I tore the liner on the roof with my shotgun's rib while hopping out to chase quail. Time before that I got stuck on a trail that was too narrow and got some pinstripes. Poor truck.

Per SC DNR illegal to sell the meat, but you can give it away. You can sell hides. Yeah I eat em, fried or grilled,... or however you prefer!

I went up in 1996 on my 'once in a lifetime' trip. This was my 36th return trip! I spend most of May and Sept hunting and part of June or July fishing each year. It's an amazing place.
