    Yes the root of the USB drive. I had to actually in the past open "File Manager." The HU should automatically start the update.

    I didn' have to reboot for the HU to prompt for the update. I just plugged in the thumb drive and waited a minute or so.

    Having a bad day, keep getting Error! Message 3 min after it starts installing the update20171207_120915.jpg . Did I miss an earler update. Ive formatted the usb thumb, will try another later.

    What is the error message? Make sure the thumb drive is formatted using FAT32.

    Edit: nevermind. I see it now. Also try to not have any other content on the thumb drive. Do not make a folder for the file.

    Just a heads up I was I took the HU out today cause I'm gonna install the compatible dash cam and noticed the thin plastic covering the metal casing vent holes think it will prevent the unit from venting and cause the unit to over heat so i removed it

    Yeah. Make sure you install the boot up image changer app. You may have to crop the image to make it fit on the display otherwise it will distort the image to fit in the screen.

    Well I got the update to install, was a bad thumb drive. One thing I did notice with the new update is I can now mirror my S8.

    Berdine, for some reason it will not let me turn on the AMP power. It will let me change the AMP switch to off but after a few seconds it turns back on.20171208_035604.jpg

    Forgot to post this but the stock xm cable does connect to the touch commander you just have to Pop tbe cover off. I have to order an extension cable because the cord isnt long enough for me to place it where i want it at.

    Anyone have any idea how to reset this HU back to factory? I have tried from the software and the pin hole, always boots back up to the same launcher and settings. Am I missing something here....

    Have you gone into advanced settings with the code then there should be tabs. Go to the second tab. It should be a black background. Scroll down on the left pane and reset.

    When I go into "Advanced" there are no tabs, just one and settings that take you to the Android settings. I have gone there and done a "backup/reset" which did nothing. Is that what you are referring to? Also, If I go into console and select "Amp" I can't change any settings such as "cur vol." I have lost all rear sound and sub output. Reset does nothing as well as the "RST" pin hole. I would think the "RST" pin hole would work, but nothing.
