Thanks bro. Don't think you can go wrong with either. Handles great! Especially w/o the sway bar. Adjuster on the coils is coo, but once I found my sweet spot I left it.

what up homie! Dude thats a nice build! Lets go wheeling! @Spolar and I are doing Salton Sea to Joshua Tree this weekend! We do a trip about once a month or so.

Hey man I need to do that tank mod. The transferflow doesn't work for me because it hangs too low. Can you elaborate on the fuel tank crossmember? I heard that 2nd gen doesn't have the crossmembers in the right place, but it sounds like you had to get a crossmember too? Did it bolt in or something?

Any chance you would be willing to detail how much chopping you did to fit 37s?

I ordered 35s, but I would really like to fit 37s.

I updated the fuel tank post on the first page with part numbers. Unfortunately, I didn't take too many pics while doing the install to do a guide, but if you guys have any other questions, I can definitely help you guys out.

Thanks man! Definitely roll with you guys one of these days when things settle down over here. I got too many crying babies and not enough hands.

My truck has holes for the crossmember(4 on each side). I bet if there's nothing in the way to add the crossmember on the 2nd gen, you can probably just line it up and drill out 8 holes.

Yeah man! We just chopped as much as we can at the body mount, hammered down the pinch weld and trimmed inside the front bumper a little bit. The alignment guy pushed the wheels all the way forward for max caster. I rub a little bit in reverse at full lock.

Have they thought about making one for the single? I don't have one, but definitely interested in getting the single and a mount of this quality looks fantastic, pricey, but worth the $$. @joonbug

We definitely can if there is a demand for the single.

We're working on a custom switch panel and skids at the moment.

I am not happy about finding this mount. I was just about to build a mount for battery to go right above(Odyssey PC925 should fit) that but this mount has me reconsidering!

I was actually going to build a "step over" type bracket that goes over the plug distribution box that is behind the airbox and mount my compressor there. SO MANY DECISIONS!!

Also, Killer truck - It's exactly what I am building right now.

The XFAKTR ARB twin mount will definitely save you some time, but fabbing up stuff is always fun. Look out for our dual battery tray and accessories mount!

Thanks man! I'll check out the build

Dave, first off, your truck is badass! Second, I’m in California as well (so Transferflow is not an option, as you know) and I’m gonna attempt to swap my 26 for the 38. I’ve located a used 38 and it’s on it’s on its way. Was wondering if I could pick your brain on how you did it and some parts I could possibly need... or anything you would have done differently. Thanks mannnn,
    Shane

Right on! Check this post here for the part numbers we used for the cross member and fuel tank straps. https://www.tundras.com/threads/socaldave’s-overland-build.17187/#post-375880

We notched the cross member so that it would slide in easier. There should be 4 holes on each side of the frame.

    IMG_20171207_114938.jpg

If I remember correctly, the lines to and from the 26 gal fuel pump don't line up exactly on the 38 gal tank. However, there's clearance above the tank so wasn't a big issue for us to run them on top. Here's a pic of the lines going to the fuel pump in case you you forget which goes where.

    IMG_20170705_104035.jpg

Make sure to feel around the lines to see if there is any unwanted tension. I recall we had to bend a bracket on the frame rail to relieve some tension.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks man!

Haven't committed yet, but looking at the Smittybilt XL. From the price point, size and minor complaints about it, it seems like it might be the right fit me us. I don't mind making minor adjustments to it if needed. The latest awning rooms have a floor as well. You have one you'd recommend?

Haven't looked too much into awnings yet.

I have seen a Tepui Kukenam first hand and it seems like a quality build. I've heard that their customer service is top notch. I'm leaning towards Tepui; but the price of the Smittybilt also has my attention.
