That is literally all that is in the article for the Tundra.

I am not sure if I want a fuel cell truck with hydrogen tank that lasts 200 miles. All Toyota needs to do is to make a few changes to the current truck to improve the MPG (electric fan, electric P/S pump, combination of direct and port injection, 8-speed transmission) and they are good to go. The remainder of the truck is up to par with the Big Three.

    I did read the article!

I don't want to drive around in a possible bomb.

huh? that has nothing to do with the tundra

the tundra is not a class 8 truck. I guess someone cant read an article :)

edit : the class 8 trucks they are talking about are "haul goods between the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and to surrounding warehouses and rail yards."

My mistake! I wasn't able to load the pictures at work so I just assumed......you know how that goes. Anyway, that means there is hope they build something good. Toyota sure had enough time for R&D by the time the next generation comes out.

You guys are silly. The ALL NEW, IMPROVED THIRD GENERATION TUNDRA!! has only been out for what, like three, four years? Oh wait, I am still towing the exact same amount and getting the exact gas mileage I got in my 2007 Tundra. I can't leave my keys in my pocket while I enter and start my truck. I also can't auto roll up my windows. Oh well, what's "A couple years out..." when the big three surpassed you in many aspects like 5 or 6 years ago.... Ummm, EVERYTHING perhaps....

Rant over, I love my Cement Pro:D

I'd like to see a smoother motor, cushier seats, quality remote start, and NO cyl deactivation/ transmission nanny nonsense.

if you want to see what the next tundra will probably get, look at the lexus 570 or land cruiser (probably the land cruiser is a better indicator). they use the same transmission/engine setups that trickle down to the tundra.

Looked at the Land Cruiser and despite the 8-speed transmission it only gets 1 MPG better on the highway, maybe the Tundra would do 19 since it is a little lighter and may more aero-dynamic. I am OK with the gas mileage anyway but every little bit helps.
I sure hope Toyota will adapt the dash board layout and the push button start, it looks much nicer and more modern in my opinion. By the time the next generation goes on sale I'll be ready to buy!

I expect the next gen platinum will have :

    1. PTS
    2. full led front/back
    3. 360 view
    4. reverse full stop feature
    5. 8 speed transmission
    6. 5.7 v8 w/ dual mode engine cycle (otto/Atkinson maybe like the Tacoma)
    7. composite bed (this is a stretch to save weight)
    8. maybe a more streamlined body (read slightly more rounded/less angular)

1-5 I see happening, the rest is a stretch
