VOTE: Fender Flares- Color Matched or Black?

I vote black for a quicksand truck. Saw this one at the Texas Tundra takeover in October

 

That looks good too. I guess it depends if you have other black parts to tie it in.

 

This one does look good; a LOT of black accessories tho.

It looks almost as good as the CM Inferno behind it.

 

Paint them. Just put mine on last month. Big difference in look for the additional $400 bucks.

 

Color match...paint yourself save the money

 

Painted flares sort of blend in with the rest of the truck. Black flares look like it's an afterthought, an after-market add-on. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it (well, at least strong enough for me to shell out extra $$ to paint them).

 

Paint them yourself is a good idea. I did a front air dam on my last car with scratch wizard rattle can color match off Amazon and it turned out really good. Didn't have time to do my flares DIY so had a shop do them. The in person difference is worth the $$$. Here's a gratuitous before after pic.

Your tundra is one of my favorites on this site! I think it looks awesome without flares. If you are dead set on flares my vote is black oem style no rivits or screws on the flares.

My choice would be to color match, but this comes down to what you want and the look you are going after. I honestly think that they both look good.

I have never been a big fan of flares but my tires stick out a bit more than I was expecting. With all the Pacific NW rain they sure keep my truck dirty!

Personally I would go with the black flares......adds some contrast!!!

 

If this one had black end caps, black grill surround and hood bulge it would look BA. With only the fender flares black it looks odd

 

With everything you have blacked out i think black fender flares would look BA. Perfect amount of contrast.

 

Paint'em

 

In San Diego, I've seen 1.716 million Tacomas in sand with black fenders; they're all coming off the lot that way. IMO, since you're not a resolute fan (or you wouldn't be asking us for opinions) going with colour matched would look way better, and less common.

 

I'd almost always say color matched, but I think black would look good with your color combos as well... Sorry for being no help!

 

Where is the choice to vote No Flares? Get some wheels with more positive offset if you have to, I just don't care for flares like I did when I was a teenager. I voted for painted flares if you must have them. JMHO

 

I’m considering flares myself. I will color match my Quicksand. I found some new takeoff ones for a crewmax for a good price. I have a Doublecab though. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?

Paint the flares use black bolts instead of stainless. Much cleaner!

 

Color matched. Mine are at paint right now. Should be getting them back this weekend
