    Hello All. I'm new to Tundras.com, and am wondering if the OE Toyota sport hood is actually available yet? Still have not seen one on a new truck on the lot (in Billings, MT) and am very interested in adding one to a new truck. Any Idea when OE may have these available @Roman?

    Thanks for the welcome guys! I will post a picture when I finally pick up my truck...It is still at the dealer waiting for the Sport hood! This is why I am wondering what is really going on with the Sport hood? I was first told 2 weeks ago (when I gave the down payment) that it would be only a week out...last Friday I was called with the news that they didn't know when the hood may be available. I'm very hopeful that when I get the next call (after finishing my leather seats) that it will be in their possession soon.

    I'm assuming the parts will be out once the Sport actually starts making it to the dealers. That's the only thing I can see as far as an explanation as to why they haven't shipped these specific parts yet.

    That makes absolutely no sense.

    I get it that you want the TRD Sport hood but why would you leave your new truck at the dealer until the hood comes in and gets painted? You have to pay for the truck and pay for the hood separately so why not drive your new truck while you wait for the hood. 2018 specific body parts are not available yet, I know because I wanted to order a grille.

    I know that it may sound strange, but part of my total purchase price of this truck includes this hood (in addition to other dealer mods like leather, tinting, clear mask, etc.) color matched to this truck. I'm now hopeful that the new hoods are not too far (in time) away. I'm patient, but hope not to wait too long. Besides, I'm assuming that the hood might appear sooner if the sale of a truck is hinged on it...maybe? Another bit of info, the dealership I ended up special ordering this truck from is a little over 500 miles away and I want everything done at the point of signing so I can just drive away with the big smile! We will see...anyway, getting super excited; been thinking about getting a new Tundra for over 2 years and now it's really close to reality!

    OK, I stand corrected, I didn't know that you made kind of a package deal. I guess you needing an 8' bed ruled out to get a TRD Sport in the first place.

    Yep, that 8' bed is my biggest hang up with Toyota...I really wanted a Platinum with all the options, but then would have no place to put my big 4 wheeler (Can am 850XT) when I'm pulling my trailer to the mountains, since they don't offer the 8' beds on those upper end models. Also, I'm still a high school kid at heart so I guess RobN22 is totally right! It's not as nice as the Cowl Induction hood on my '69 Camaro, but it does appeal to me! I'm sure it's not for everyone.

    That is why they make all kinds of different truck configurations..........something for everybody. I like the look of the TRD Sport hood scoop although it is fake, just as the "air inlet" on the hood bulge is fake.

    Just posted 3 pictures of the TRD Sport found here in Billings, MT. As everyone already knows, and the 2nd and 3rd photo shows, the hood scoop is non-functional. sure look good though! I think it is even better in person, compared to photos. It gives the truck a bit more of an aggressive look in my opinion. From all I could look at, it seems pretty straight forward to do a hood swap. This truck definitely has a 6 foot bed too.
