image.jpg New tundra owner here. Excited about my first Toyota ever. Coming from a 2004 Ford F-150, which was quite possibly the worst vehicle ever made. I wanted a truck I can drive for the rest of my life so I chose a Tundra. Which happened to be the best looking truck of them all. Well I'm excited to be a part of a forum that's not all about fixing problems, class action lawsuits, cam phaser replacements, etc. etc.

Welcome! Glad you finally chose wisely. Did you get the F-150 new in 04? What problems did you have with it yourself?
Very few have had major problems with their trucks here. A mfg issue or dealer aftermarket lift issue is going to happen here or there from human error or material inconsistency.
We are more about improvements with DIY mods and aftermarket parts or helping with the smaller problems, nuances that come up with aging trucks.

No I bought the f-150 used. Biggest problem with it was the cam phasers were getting ready to fail. If you ever hear an F150 gas engine sounding like a diesel, it's got the cam phaser problem. It was a design flaw by Ford which they never really took responsibility for. So they were all bound to fail eventually if not multiple times. And a lot of people pay $2000-$3000 to have them replaced just to have them go bad again in 20k miles. Along with the window regulators constantly breaking and the glass just falling into the door. Not fun when you're up in the mountains and it's snowing. The last straw was my exhaust started leaking water like crazy. So I traded it in for my Tundra. Now it's sleepless nights from being excited about my truck and not from worrying about fixing something. I'm done with Ford.

Wow, yea that is a lot of problems. Before my Tundra and Tacoma i had a 94 Explorer. Failed power window, back hatch wouldn't stay open, failing transmission, interior items breaking and the list goes on.
