Went to install my new morimoto xB fogs in my 2017, but they didn't fit? The morimoto were slightly wider and therefore would not "slide right in" like they are supposed to? Anyone know what's up? Fogs are the same part numbers all all prior years according to Toyota site. I got the oval ones that TRS and lightworkz said would fit?

    EDIT:
    Here was lightwerkz response:

"I can see the difference in size. Oddly enough we have installed these before no real issues. Sometimes you have to squeeze them together to feed them into that little channel. As long as you get it in it will hold on that side and I think the other side is for the screws? The holes should be a close match. You can also open up the hole with a drill bit if needed. Just be careful those "arms for mounting are brittle."

guess I will return them...was wanting a true PNP product, not something that i have to force into and be careful of the "brittle" mounting arms!! bummer...

    What's gives?b11d5ce8a931046070f651aad83cc202_cff6ff9f7de57e3061aa78db41a6d939908bab68.jpgcdb2ca86acc76bdd7b17e3a4c598128e_d72b6a3b89803b9368f6ce687da203e6f0742935.jpg44bdd7621ea4d0665fb6d22941dad56d_f3ee1b50a1feafa46d791ee1f6b18ffc418fe23c.jpgede1544e50b026a98bcabf02e2034cef_5805429abfaaf8694cf4ef8755b681bde98e968a.jpg

I used the housing that the OEM fogs came in and there is a gap that remains. It doesn't sit flush like OEMs.

These won't even slide into the OEM housings as the mounting points that are supposed to slide into the OEM housings are too wide?

I don't recall having this issue. Paging @Almaboy since he used to have these too and might have some insight. I don't recall mine being out of alignment with the housing.

If I remember I had to trim one of those tabs with a dremel to get them to fit in my 16

I didn’t have to do any trimming but they didn’t slip in easily. I was able to make it work but had to use a little old fashion force

The morimoto fogs are the only mod I regret spending money on. I feel it was a waste.

Ditto. Not throw pattern I expected and I have half moons on the floor from the light coming thru the housing. It’s a nice white color, but not what i expected.

It will fit. Mine was the same. Just squeeze them in and stick it in! Add kY as needed. But seriously it will fit.

My Baja Designs lights are so bright I don't use them with oncoming traffic unless there is thick fog or snow, etc. When I do use them, they don't disappoint.

Tough to find that middle ground.

Yeah, it's a bummer for sure. Don't want to have to cram these into the OEM housings if it's supposed to be PNP.

Ill shoot lightworkz and email tomorrow and seenwhat's up and report back.

It fits fine. Just squeeeze the tabs in. It’s actually better because it makes it more snug. Just install it. I ran many miles on mine without any issues. Pulled them out and everything was still fine.

No issues installing in my 2014 (except the wheel well liner. Eff that thing with an AIDS fire).

Sorry this isn’t helpful. Not trying to be a jerk but there are left and right lights. Make sure you’re using the proper side. And worst case use the stock housing.

Are you the original owner of the truck?
I ask because the oem lights you have look round, at least in the pic where as the Morimoto's are oval, i have the same lights and didnt have any problem installing. Maybe they were switched out before.
I feel I should also mention they are Right and Left dedicated, sure you know that.

When I installed my 2018 LED fogs in my 2016 that had the stock halogens, I noticed there is a lot of play on the side of the light that does not receive a screw to hold them in. So much so I can see the light on the road ahead of me bounce up and down when I go over a bump. Maybe that's why the Morimotos have a little bit wider spread?

Lol i have led projected retros. The stock led 2018 is way brighter compared to the morimoto ones. Just my opinion
