Quick question,do I need a diff drop kit for a front only 2.5" leveling kit for a 4x4 2015? Im in the supreme suspension website and they offer both, one with and one without diff drop kit,but have no idea what is it or if I needed.

For a 2.5" drop, you do not really need a diff drop. I advise using a diff drop. It will maintain suspension geometry close to factory and will make for a much better alignment IMO. @LOTSOFTOYS installs a lot of aftermarket kits and does a ton of alignments and he can give you the best answer on this topic.

Im trying to do a front 2.5" lift instead of a drop.

I made a typo. I meant 2.5" lift. oops. Everything I said still applies. Diff drops are fairly easy to install and cost about $30 or so.

ToyTec (Toyota suspension experts and reasonably priced. Tundras.com discount too!):

A diff drop does absolutely nothing for your alignment. It just drops your differential a touch so the axles don't have such a steep angle to them. It'll save the cv boots a little longer.

I knew you would have better info. heh heh. The SPC UCAs would help with alignment/geometry for my 3" setup right? You would do a dead nuts alignment for me once I get them per your recommendation.

I wonder if the TRD pro would benefit from a diff drop?

I don't know for sure but I would assume the Pro suspension is very finely tuned already and no doubt engineered quite well to perform pretty good "out of the box".

I was just thinking more along the lines of the CV boot. Basically why I was bringing up the question is, when I go in to the dealer when my lease to own is up, I plan on having the dealer do a pro lift installation rolled into my financing.

I had a brain fart about the diff drop. Won't be the last. That's why it's good to have @LOTSOFTOYS here. Too high an angle puts a lot of stress on the CV joint and can cause premature failure (always not good. hehheh) You could probably swing a good deal for the Pro lift install at end of lease which will not be cheap but no warranty issues either. Sounds like a good plan to me. Some here will say to save some money and go aftermarket which is very wise but your idea sounds good too.

Yes spc for your setup would be awesome.

As for diff drops. Anything over 2 inches up front I'd do it... it's cheap and could help.

Did someone say they wanted pro suspension???
Please don't waste your money.... buy a real lift kit

You should check out ToyTec lifts before you do the Pro suspension. Quite possible to still work out financing at end of lease time

The only reason I was going pro suspension is, I was under the assumption that it was fine tuned for the Toyota and superior over other lifts in ride quality. Not so generic. And i was hoping less issues with other supporting suspension mods to get it right. Im wanting the longevity of oem suspension and ball joints. Im trying not to increase service intervals. I guess i could do do 2" spacers and 2" diff drop... Not really gaining much other than ride height. I guess thats ok with some decent reservoir shocks.

If u want to spend that much on a lift, just go with Toytec BOSS lift ...they're coming out with rear resevioirs for the Tundra too.

Yes definitely was going to do a lot more research before I do anything. I have plenty of time before I'm actually going to do this. I just saw the thread and figured I'd bring up the topic. Sorry to jack your thread Op

There's a vendor on TurdraTalk who completely took apart pro suspension. He was quite impressed with the design and quality. Guys who have Pro or have installed Pro suspension seem to be extremely happy with the ride. I haven't read a single regret or complaint (except from pro-King/Fox/Icon group).

If I were to do another build, I would go with this one, OME BP-51. It's not available for Tundra yet, but it's coming. OME has developed this for the last four years. I am sold on OME quality and this is exciting development.

Stay away from spacers if you can. A Pro suspension is a long way from spacers. Call the guys at ToyTec at least. Can't hurt. As far as reservoir shocks: total complete over kill unless you plan on serious 4 wheeling in hot climes and/or long distance pre-runs. I saw some serious bad ass 4X4s in AK without reservoirs. No need for reservoir /re-build-able shocks in that climate or even here in CO. I'm excluding rock crawlers. (It can get pretty hot here in the summer) My OME shocks ,for example are "real" shocks. Just like ToyTec Boss shocks are "real" shocks. My OME's were custom engineered for my /our Tundras by Aussie engineers. While "someone" here is re-valving "real" shocks , I'm out 4 wheeling in bad ass places (for decades without "real" shocks apparently) and not at home twiddling my thumbs "re-building/valving " my "real" shocks.Give me a break!! Bring it on!! I'm waiting for clarification on what a "real" shock is. If you can't reach me, I'm out 4 wheeling with my "not real" shocks. You can always catch up with me after re-valving your shocks. Don't expect me to wait while you catch up. :oldglory:

Yeah I wasn't really liking the idea of spacers either. My plan was to run a slightly larger tire with a 2-2 1/2" lift up front and 1.75- 2" CB shackle. I want to do a little bit of crawling, "nothing too crazy" some 40 to 50 miles of fire road/trail/desert and have the ability to hit those at decent speeds. I guess you could call it some pre-running. No Baja 500 LOL. Maybe I'll try to get a few inches of air!! HA!! Of course I'd love to make it ridiculous but it's just not practical for me, it's a daily driver.

IMO, I prefer the rear add a leaf over shackles. Shackles would be my second choice over a simple block. If you want air ,you definitely do not want spacers. You need a lift that will allow you to do that without breaking something.

    Sean,
The guys at ToyTec will not only listen to you, but will recommend to you what you actually need for what your needs are. Their goal is not only to make a profit but most importantly to satisfy you, like they did to me. Two Sean's here now. Could get confusing. heh heh

Another good reason to talk to ToyTec is to see if your requirements necessitate a reservoir shock setup. Shackles can give you lift but can have a negative affect on the leafs under load, like a trailer, or slide in camper which will fit with your 6.5' bed. Shackles ,IMO, should only be used on 2WDs at best, maybe. Shackles look better on 65 Nova's. A shackle will never see my truck.

No need for shackles on these trucks. Aal or leaf pack. Sounds like a full ome kit would fit u well. If u have some more coin, go boss front coilovers and some ucas and boss rear shocks. I'm a big fan of the Dakar leaf packs. They do great

By the way, I want the Dakars too, along with the SPC's. I know you can do the SPC labor at Stevenson's, but can you install the Dakars too?
