I've been mulling over installing a front and rear mounted camera system with a dvr system. I've seen some companies that make a 360 degree system and was curious if anyone has had any experience with them? Basically the setup I am looking for is on that is subtle as far as camera placement, I don't want to advertise it meaning if there is need for the footage, I want to be the one who volunteers it, not where someone see's it easily and then it gets seized.

I didn’t even know they had such a thing for vehicles.

Pretty neat. I have seen dash cams with parking mode, etc.

I had the 360 degree cameras in my F-150 King Ranch and F-150 Platinum and I found the front view very useful and the two side cameras useless. I would like to add a front camera to my Tundra some day, it is very helpful during parking.

I installed the frac system soon after I got my truck. One of the best mods I have done.

What is the frac system, does it add a front camera?

@smooosh, Do you have pics of your front camera installation? How did you install yours?

Here is the camera. I installed it in the center of the bumper. 5F21A6F5-FB07-44DA-B87B-7D3CAB07CE94.jpg
I installed the buttons under temperature selectors.

I read up on the Frac system and I have that on my list now as well. From what I read it also allows to access everything on the radio that is normally blocked while moving. Will it also allow you to get in the settings menu on the 2018 dash cluster while the truck is moving?

I haven’t tried accessing the dash settings in motion. However, I’d be very surprised if it worked. The VIM signal I’m intercepting for the FRAC harness is specifically for the Entune HU. If other parts of the truck are using VIM as well, the FRAC switch would not affect their normal operation.

I like the idea of the FRAC system, but that's not what I am trying to do. I am looking for a camera setup that is independent of the factory system. One that will have at a mininum of a front and rear camera that records to a hard mounted DVR in the truck.

This can be accomplished with the FRAC harness. Simply by installing a two-channel DVR in-line with the Front and Rear Cam inputs to the FRAC PCB. I'm looking into a single channel dvr at the moment, because I'm only interested in recording the front cam video.
