New member here. I helped out another local Dallas Tundra owner with his install and he shot some videos of it. Figured you all would find it useful! We've got a few more that he shot but hasn't sent over yet.

Does the touch commander plug into to the stock xm antenna?

 

Have you been able to pull the knobs off? I’ve pulled mine apart and black electrical taped over the leds for now just to get rid of the blinding light. When I did it was a real pain to go around the knobs.

 

is this what I would purchase with the fakra idata xm cable?

 

No it comes with its own antenna and plugs through the aux port. Havent gotten mines delivered yet... it should be here by the weekend.

 

Supposedly the one I purchased is made for after market radios with xm capability

 

Is our radio not xm ready?? I’m confused now why should I have to purchase another screen to separately have xm on it ?

 

Yes the knobs pull off in 2 pieces when putting them back on though easier to put the outer piece first by lightly rotating it on the post til you feel it's in the right alignment for the locking tabs then push back on.then push the center button in . the center post the knobs go onto though are not removable and are attached to the circuit board

 

They are not xm ready you can download the Sirius xm app though you would need internet connection when using

 

This huge screen and it doesn’t have xm capabilities damn thank god I was able to cancel my Amazon order

 

Tbh...I would rather use the Sirius XM app because you can also have it on your smartphone and still listen to it indoors with BT.

 

My issue is I am in mountain areas often where there is no service so i probably will get that commander touch in the near future

 

Anybody running across this issue... all it does is stop the home screen from working that has speedometer.
And another issue im running across i having to constantly adjust my clock to the correct time

 

Guys soon you may need to learn Chinese language with that units ☺️

Usually the clock is driven by the gps and daylight savings settings..

 

Easy fix for xm downloaded app to phone and just play through Bluetooth lol

 

I never seen that message have you tried resetti g the unit by sticking a paperclip in the tiny hole marked RST on the right side of bezel. You will need to go into settings then more settings and chose your time zone or one that makes your time correct.you will have to reboot unit for changes to take affect.

 

Silly question but you do have the supplied OBD plugged in right

 

I have my unit use my network time so anytime my phone connects via wifi, it displays the correct time if the it is not correct but it usually is.

 

That means the stock launcher has crashed. Did you make any changes to the OBD in settings?

I had that happen a few times when I installed a 3rd party launcher.

 

Anybody get this message?I get it every once in a while. Must be an app that's not optimized for this Android OS version.

 

Thanks havent tried that ill give it a shot... and the obd sensor is still in ...havent made any changes to the radio since i got it besides changing the time.


Im going to try a different launcher soon... which ones are you guys running?

ok here is the last of it
oring from Ace Hardware to seal the outer edge from bleed needs to be cut and slightly trimmed to fit into opening
here the oring is in place
this is the small led that needs to be colored right above the button
here are the 4 layered blue tape discs i used a socket to trace
here is the finished knob color changed just dropped the disc into place and re installed knob

 

When you start your truck and the HU boots up, does it start off on the search function when using Nova? Mine always did.

 

Yes it's kinda annoying but then it brings up the radio screen after

 

So i found out the gauges stop working only when the radio is hooked up to the internet.

On a side note im looking into possibly installing a portable hotspot and then a dash cam. That way i can have access to it no matter where i am

 

Anybody find a way to get netflix and youtube... they dont show up in the playstore but im sure we can add it somehow
