As my battle of self inflicting bills for happiness continues I have found myself in a predicament... I'm up for an upgrade.

I know everyone and their mom is team android. But who on here has/gotten hands on the iPhone X.

I used to work for apple and am addicted to their devices, but is the $1000 price tag a price tag worth it?

    Help me out nerds.

I'm still on a frickin' 6 right now. I've been waiting for apple to make the big move so it only seems logical. But got damn, that 1 grand is daunting.

    Lol you would... ;)

I tried Samsung again, sold it 2 weeks later. My issue is everything I have is already apple, and the integration is just too too sweet.

There really aren’t many neat tricks other than stuff that goes along with it. Save $300 and get a 7 or 8 ONLY IF you are having issues with your 6

I have one. Went from a 7 Plus to a X I was used to the bigger phone so at first I wasn’t to into it. After a few weeks of using it I love it.

I've got a 6+ and I really want the X but I'm with you, I'm conflicted with the price :(. I do think the pice is worth it if I had the money unfortunately I'm super broke now :(

Also if you have just a regular size iPhone the X will be a huge difference. The bigger screen is awesome.

True that. I've watched about 100 different videos on YouTube and the split is very evident pro vs con. If I was paying outright I would be more inclined to push towards the cheaper device but at 4 or 5 bucks a month difference I'm kinda torn. My 6 is definitely on it's way out or else I'd just keep it. Being an ex apple genius I've torn it down but without getting official apple parts (which are too damn pricey to convince me to fix it), I know I need to move on.

    I got the X from the 7+.

    • Pros
      • Smaller overall dimensions
      • bigger screen real estate thanks to maximizing screen size
      • fast
      • face ID
      • Portrait mode is baddass
      • Front camera is way better
      • Sound is much better especially when watching in landscape
      • Screen is on point!
    • Cons
      • Not all apps optimized to use the new screen size(old apps look small still)
      • getting used to NOT having a home button
      • closing apps seem harder
      • notification is further now(upper right)

Overall it is a great phone with minor issues that I know apple will fix just like when the 6+ first came out.

Do I regret getting it? No.
Is it worth $1,000? hard to answer that lol.
    Do I like it? Yes
Would I recommend it? Yes if you can afford it lol.

Good luck man. Overall I like it. So I say go for it.

The price is definitely scary, but my issue is that the iPhone 8 is only 5 bucks less a month on my plan. So it's wishy washy. I just want whats gonna be best for the next 2-3 years for my use.

For $1000 no way. Its only a phone, if it doesn't add horsepower save your money.
I just went from a 6 to a 6S and will use this phone till it it no longer works and it cant be fixed.

Food for thought. I could run my 6+ into the ground before making any decisions. haha I think that gives me a few months if i'm lucky (battery is going, screen is burned out, the housing is slightly bent from my last job which drives me nuts) But it's still going for now!

I 100% agree although getting used to no home button comes pretty natural after a couple days.

Definitely helpful, It seems your not alone on the home button. I'm curious how mad that will drive me especially while riding my bike or snowmobiling... haha

LOL, I'm about in that scenario which is why I'm trying to figure it out. My 6+ has been great! It's just getting to the point that i've thought about upgrading more often than not.

If I only still had friends at apple... haha The problem is when you're not fixing em every single day you don't know what's the good and whats the bad. But @Almaboy works in the field so his opinion is worth its weight in gold. It's just still early so I'm skeptical that things are this good/this bad. I mean hell... They only started shipping a few weeks ago!

We know you’re not getting a piece of shit Android, so if the choices are getting an iPhone 8 or pay a few more bucks a month to get an X... that’s a no brainer. Get the damn X Joe.

I got the X the day it came out cuz I’m a nerd. But I absolutely love it. Definitely get the X. No home button and slightly smaller overall size is a game changer for me. Well worth it!!

Yup. The size in your pocket def makes a huge difference from the plus. It’s about the size of an iPhone 7 but having a larger screen then the plus! Also battery life seems better also.
