so i've noticed more and more lately i've been driving around at night and i'm finding more often that i'm being brighted out by drivers with either misaligned headlights or excessively bright bulbs. it's gotten to the point that i'm considering just throwing LEDs bulbs in my stock housings and joining the light scatter party.
sound familiar or am i just getting old and cranky?

honestly, last night I was followed by a Tesla and man those lights were way too bright so it looks like new cars with LEDs are also brighter than older

On my way home from work this evening, I flashed my hi-beams at two oncoming drivers who left their high beams on when approaching a long line of us going the other way, a line I was part way down. Both eventually dimmed to low beam at my "suggestion"

And I was followed by an asshat in a Tacoma with blue HID lights in his reflector housings, which were obnoxious enough to make my eyeballs physically hurt.

These are a regular occurrence , and there is zero enforcement of non-approved lighting being used.

So no, it's not just you. I've got a pair of LED flood lights I want to mount rear facing on my headache rack, but I'm concerned I'll turn them on for reasons other what I should. I've also had evil thoughts of installing LED's in my factory fog lights and aiming them up about 10 turns of the adjuster screws, but so far I've resisted the temptation. After all, blinding these dumbasses means they might just crash into me. And I haven't subscribed to the "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality.

It happens so often, I don’t even get mad anymore. I just focus on the fog line until they go by.

Stay strong, don’t become one of them! Haha.

I have honestly contemplated buying a 52 in light bar just to blind people who refuse to turn off their brights. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but it does entertain me.

I've contemplated retaliation. I too, am getting older but the headlight options have increased and there's some crazy lights out there.
I just can't bring myself to retaliate, I don't want to inadvertently cause an accident.

When things get too bright I focus on the strip of mayonnaise on the right and not the mustard in the center.

I’ve driven past my Phillips ultinon led in stock housings using my wife’s 4 runner and the “glare” you speak of is no different than halogens. Just a different color temp (white vs yellowish) I wasn’t blinded by scatter or anything. (I did this because if they did blind, I was going to remove them). I think I’m good to go. I’ve never been flashed.

Misaligned projectors, HID or LED are pretty terrible too so the “team projectors” crowd aren’t immune from this either.
$20 Pep Boys LEDs are terrible and are probably the majority of the glare/scatter culprits on the road.

I agree, all these morons with leveled trucks and hid's in projectors that don't re-aim them after leveling are driving me nuts, then add to the fact that the rest are driving with their hi-beams on and refuse to turn them off. Makes me miss my old F250 with an 8" lift and a 40" light bar in the bumper, I used to give them 2 or 3 flashes to turn off their hi-beams and then I would give them the light bar for about a second if there was nobdy else on the road, that never failed to be enough to get my point across.

I’ve yet to use my lightbar on anyone yet. But it’s there if I need it.

I've noticed this too, and I wonder if it's aftermarket lights, or if factory lights are getting brighter and more obnoxious?

LED lights are standard on a ton of vehicles now, so maybe that's it. I try to take note of the type of vehicle that just blinded me, and usually it's just a little crossover SUV.
