    HA..
There's nothin' like spending a little quality time with a buffer.. (in your case a lot of time) and saying...
"now why did I do that"

then you remember "'Cause it was FUN."
    been there:cheers:

Yep. Zero regrets. Did about 20+ hours on everything from rock, dirt, soft sand. All with 3 kids in the back. The 6 month old slept completely through one day.

It’s what the truck is for :)

Nice. Mine wasn't quite that bad but a good da polisher and lots of time and beer should correct that. Here is an after pic. The polisher is in the reflection. 20170702_102158_Burst01.jpg

Absolutely. Just wish we had this many trails as close to us as I’ve had lately. ESP with the diversity of terrain

tried to take my DA orbital to the stripes.......no good. Forced myself to buy a true rotary again....we'll see how that goes, lol

I used the harbor freight dual action multi speed one with the orange hex logic cutting pad and meguiars compound. Followed with 3 in 1 Griots (?) Garage polish/sealant and the black hex logic polishing pad. The polisher was $80 with a 20 off online coupon. There are better ones out there for 2 or 3 times as much but for once a year it will do no problem. If you haven't done it before watch the Chemical Guys YouTube video on it. Small area, 6 slow passes, 1 up and down, 1 side to side, next area. Repeat for sealant. It took me about 40 hours to do the entire truck. Doing it right to remove those scratched just figure one day per side then a day for the hood and tailgate so the shine is all over. Hope it comes out, it should.

Also avoid the true rotary polisher that are not dual action unless you have a background in body work. They will easily "burn" your clear coat edges and molded curves. The da is very user friendly and easy to use on edges and corners with no fear of damage. Just FYI.

Yep, you're speaking my game. I detailed professionally through college, also helped guys like meguiars with product development. Already have a griots DA (And two old porter cables that eventually got used so much they quit on me). I just haven't had the need to use a rotary in 15-20 years. 3 out of our 4 cars currently sport ceramic coatings........the tundra being the lone one that doesn't :)

Chemical Guys 30% off sale, nudged me over the edge to put a rotary back in the arsenal. Can use it on some of the counter tops in the house as well.

side note, the new soft backing plates make it a little less risky to burn edges, etc. Rotary's aren't as scary as people make them seem to be, but can be if you go full retard.

Sounds like you know what you're doing for sure. Post some before after pics when you're done.

Yea, the flex was very tempting. But considering the '55 has CP gold package and the wifes car has their silver, I won't touch their cars with a pad for some time (if I ever tough the '55 again). The paint on the 996 is pretty solid and has Cquartz on it. I just couldn't justify buying the Flex......at that point I owuld have just paid to get Ceramic Pro put on it :)

Will let you guys know how it goes...when I eventually get around to it.
