I’m right where I need to be
    Vehicle:
    Voluptuous Whitey
    Mid-life crisis continues......

    I’m bored again.
    1. Kids are growing up and not far from being on their own (except my oldest)
    2. Terrible ex-wife is out of the picture.
    3. I can do my job anywhere else in the country
    4. I would miss the scenery but the cold and elevation is starting to get to me
    5. I would like to buy a home but can’t afford anything around here
    6. I don’t want city
    7. I don’t want intense humidity
    8. I don’t want intense heat
    9. I do want mountains
    10. I do want beauty
    11. I want camping weather
    12. I want some cold but not wind
    13. I love Colorado but don’t want Denver, CO Springs, desert, nor high wind advisories any longer
Am I asking for too much??

I’m ready to start looking to move but it won’t happen over night. I need somewhere that has all of the above but also a college for my daughter to tag along if she wants.

    Any recommendations?

I still vote Mexico. A lot of gringos moving south. I was in Guatemala last year and I'm in Nicaragua now. I have ran into a lot of ex-pats. If all you need is an internet connection to work you can live on the cheap and easy in Baja or further south if you can speak a little español. Also, English is the official language of Belize, just saying.

Sierras in California: Tahoe to the North, Mammoth to the South. Beautiful country there.
Anywhere along the 395 is beautiful. You could pick the Nevada side of Tahoe and still keep your guns too ;)

The folks in Texas are down to earth good folks. I was born in Austin, moved away (North East, Europe, Dallas) and find Austin the friendliest place in the world. That said - it gets 'hot' here, with many days in the summer over 100; but very few days do we get below 32. Watch out for the Hill Country, water is really becoming an issue...

I'm thinking about it. My son would dig it. He rides mtn bikes and snowboards with the big boys and Tahoe would be a great spot for him to flourish. AND....i would enjoy a change of environment without losing the things i love too
