Happy Thanksgiving y'all. So I have a 2010 CM with the factory JBL system and I want to replace all speakers including the sub. I will keep the factory Nav unit. So my question is, do I use the LC7i or FIX86?

Go for the JL Fix 86. Super easy calibration with the Tun software and sounds amazing without having to do much tweaking. Had mine for about a year now and no issues whatsoever.

I have the Fix86. If you can afford it I would skip this option and just pull the trigger on a aftermarket head unit. Yes the Fix will help but it won't be perfect plus there are so many more options with a new deck...timing,better input to the amp and better control of EQ...so i hear. I am going that route next but to many things I have to do first before I can spend another 600-1200 on a deck and install. Oh and if you are a Mac user like myself a little warning that software is windows based so you will need a new or another laptop.

JL gives you the option to calibrate it using the button on the Fix or connect it to a Windows based computer to calibrate. Connect it to the computer and it will allow you to tweak the sound more using the 10-band eq. I find that I didn’t have to tweak after calibration as my sound curve is almost flat. Good enough for me I guess. You can tweak the sound even more and correct timing and access 60-band eq by upgrading to the twk 88. But I find that I’m perfectly happy with the fix86. I’m not sure if aftermarket HUs are perfect either.

The only reason I want to keep my stock Navigation is because I really like the maintenance schedule.

I wish I was closer to being able to get my head unit. My buddy would give me a hell of a deal on it and I could pass along a great deal on my Fix86.....Damn you holidays/kids birthday/business expenses lol.

What brand of amp are you using? you doing the install?

Fix86 by far. I started with an AudioControl LCQ1 and it just doesn’t compare.

What makes the Fix86 better than the LCQ1? I have an LCQ1 from another car and was going to use on my 2018 CM. Just wondering.

I'm using a Polk PA660 for the mids and highs and a Polk PA330 for the sub. How much do you want for the FIX?

I can't sell it yet since its still in my truck. If i was able to get my new head unit i would sell it. Not sure if Polk tells you what those amps should be run at but if you run them too hot you could still pick up white noise in your speakers. Mine was turned up way to much on the gain so at about 6 and below on the volume you could hear static. Once we turned them down and readjusted the Freq on the amp it was gone...but for a year i dealt with that. At louder volume you could not hear it. The Fix comes with a cd to play and you adjust your amp till you get the correct voltages out of the speaker output. Each Jl amp is a little bit different and they are all listed on the jl site.

Maybe I'll just get a new head unit too.

Also to be fair to the Fix 86....I was playing music off my iPhone over Bluetooth and this was a huge contributor to the static.Use the USB port. Our headunits don’t put out the cleanest signal. I have seen other members that have had good results with the Fix also. I have two other reasons to want to switch headunits 1. I don’t have nav now and would like to and 2. I want to play a dvd in the deck and have it play also on my drop down monitor for my kids.
