i cannot receive email and text messages through Entune. Anyone else with this problem? I've reset my phone, followed all the steps to sync, everything works fine except texts and email. I have a 2015 Tundra, and an iPhone 5s

I can get texts easily, but not email. However, it got annoying having the damn voice over read texts, I turned it off for that reason, and there are times when a psngr may be in my vehicle and I do not want them knowing one thing or another.

Try going to settings, Bluetooth, and under my devices you should see your truck. There should be a blue I with a circle around it. Press on that. In that menu make sure the "show notifications" and "sync contacts" is turned on. This worked for my iPhone 6.

Strange. Just did a little research and everyone says to flip the "show notifications" switch like I stated above. Might have to run it by the dealer and ask what's up.

I had a 3 year old smartphone and I couldn't get it to work. I just assumed my truck didn't have the package to do it. A few months ago I got a new phone and it now works fine.

In my case it was the phone not the truck.

Don't know what the problem is. Been to the dealer, salesman and mechanic tried for an hour. Then sent it in to make sure it had the latest update. Just doesn't want to work for me.

Great idea. Of course Iwe didn't think of that until I left the dealership. I'll try it with my wife's phone.

Only advice I have is give it at least 10-15 mins to load everything. I'm no expert though, just a fellow owner.

Hopefully it gets worked out somehow.

FYI! It's under the Bluetooth menu, not the Notifications menu. And it must be connected to the truck to get the menu. It should look like what is shown above.

I've done all of that. iPhone 6 same problem. They have a problem and Toyota 800 line is washing their hands of it. Just text messaging. Siri Eyes Free works fine but I don't get notifications that a text comes in. Aggravating.

I've never had the problem but I'm using an Android, my wife has an iphone and her Highlander got the messages up until around a couple months ago when it got the notification but no option to listen to it then just like that a couple weeks ago it started working again. Could have been an update or something, I don't know since I rarely drive it.

My problem was fixed by deleting all saved text conversations that were on my phone. Apparently Entune has a problem with all that data on your phone during set up.
I assume email is the same way. I don't get email notifications through Entune either (I have thousands on my account) but I don't care to get emails while I'm driving.

I had a pretty old phone, Samsung Galaxy S3 and would intermittently recieve texts on my entune. Once I got a new phone, LG G4, all texts would come thru....sometime before my phone would signal I received a text my truck would tell me.

My guess is the phone. Apple is dumb that way. They seem to only want their devices to work with their devices...or other APPLE APPROVED devices. And companies don't want to spend the time/money to have the APPLE APPROVED. Red tape BS!

Buy an Android and come to the light side. I don't forsee Apple making a truck anytime soon. If they do they won't give you a Jack to lift your car in case of a flat tire! They don't like jacks for some reason.........??

By the angle of the stream, looks like the Android dude had a raging boner when he saw the Apple.
Never had a problem with my iPhone and it hasn't blown up and caught on fire.

iPhone 5 had recall for battery failure. Same as sumsung.. there have been many reports of iPhone 4,5,6 caught fire... Nothing to do with manufacturing of the phone it's the batterys..

Don't forget for had to hold the iPhone 4 like gingerly do to the weak and poor place of antenna... Recall use a 2dollar bumper... Smh..

Trust me they all have problems none are perfect...

Hi All, I am new to the forum. Got a new Tundra in August and have been having the same issue. Text msging works about 3 % of the time. Finally got someone from Toyota to look at this morning. After an hour of talking and him doing an hour of research he called me and told me that the unit is not fully compatible with IPHONES. I find this shocking but that is what i know and i was suprised the dealer didnt know this after months of calls.

SMS/MMS notifications from the iphone to the entune stopped displaying on the head unit out of the blue. All settings on the entune were checked to allow it, but somehow the iPhone setting had been disabled.

As suggested by mdavis I re-enabled "show notifications" and the functionality returned:

Settings>Bluetooth>(my devices) Toyota Tundra>"i">Show Notifications (on)

As part of the trouble shooting process also ensure that Settings>Notifications>Messages>Allow Notifications and Show on Lock Screen are on.
