Well after two months of waiting, my 2016 came in on Monday.

    Nothing fancy.

    '16 DC SR5 Upgrade
    Safety and Convenience
    Navigation

So far, I have a little over 200 miles on it and am liking it for the most part. I've already but an Extang Trifecta on, Husky X-Act Contours, and a bed mat.

Didn't realize there wasn't any door storage on the back doors (my oversight, oops). I'm experiencing the nice glare on the screen everyone was talking about (but expected). Still ticked that I can't get a power passenger seat without stepping up a whole trim level. My wife was fighting to get that thing to adjust (doesn't help she's 8 months pregnant and 5'1" tango_face_grin_5d166af63b2319004dff05068d28a2355c3239c6.png).

I'm a little surprised as to how loud the truck is. Unless I let off the gas on the highway, or I'm cruising back roads at around 35-45, the truck has a lot of engine noise. I'm coming from a '15 F150 5.0 that I was driving for two months as a rental and that thing was silent until you stepped on it.

Here's where I'm really going to catch some crap.

I feel as though the throttle response and low end is not near what that 5.0 was. The Tundra really feels like it has to work a bit more to get moving whereas the F150 was really pretty responsive.

Again, this may just be a difference and I'll get used to it, but I was a little taken back by it. Mileage is terrible (1/2 tank used so far and just around 16mpg mixed...same route, the F150 was getting 18.5-19), but sort of expected (was hoping my light foot would eek out some better numbers).

    Overall, still happy with it.

    Pictures, of course.

Good looking truck, congrats! So you're saying there are no door pockets on the rears? That's odd, I wonder why Toyota would get rid of them. My '13 DC has them and they come in quite handy.

Congrats! There is engine noise on our trucks, im used to it and really don't think its that loud anyway.
No pockets on the rear dc doors is strange. See what you mean when i looked it up:

Yep, my Tacoma Access Cab had them and I used them a lot. Not the end of the world, but a pretty dumb omission.

Congrats on the new truck. I have a 14' 5.7 crewmax and I feel like there is no engine noise. I feel like my truck sounds like a Prius, but I came from a Tacoma with a TRD intake/exhaust. As far as the throttle response, from what I hear it seems like the 14+ have throttles that aren't very touchy compared to the 07-13's.. The truck still has the power you just need to step on it more to get it.
Try pressing the tow/haul button and driving in that mode as an experiment and romp on it, just to see how the engine feels to you. It seems to make the throttle more touchy and make the truck hold a gear longer.
The MPG's do suck. I average around 12.5 in city driving, and I don't even stomp on it, I baby it. I expected that though, and it doesn't bother me.

Hopefully as time goes on and you get used to it, the Tundra will grow on you.

I do think Toyota dropped the ball on interior storage for the 14+ Tundras. With all that said, it's still my #1 pick.

    Good luck with it!

Thanks, everyone. Definitely a sharp truck that should prove to be really reliable. It's going to get worked, so we will see how she does.

Welcome from CO. Storage is definitely at a premium on the 3rd gens. My 07 isn't bad. You might want to consider the rear floor board storage upgrade sold here. (Somebody help me out on this please.) My 09 Taco had so much storage space to the point of overkill compared to what you get now.

His is a double cab. The one being sold by @havasubud is for the crew max. Pretty sure Toyota sells a under seat storage unit for the double cab.

Mine came with the factory underseat storage. Definitely nice to have. I've already filled it up.

    Any good center console organizers?
