Glad that you got it fixed. I still have about 3 dents from 50 ft. pinecone bombs from July. The hard hand grenade kind, not the fluffy Christmas time ones. I initially was like WTF maybe the guy who installed my tonneau cover did it then the dents went from 2 to 3 with pinecones in the drive. I pushed down on the roof and was like damn, that thing is paper thin. Waiting for a chance to take care of it....work gets in the way of all my truck projects. I'm going to try one of those do it yourself dent removal kits, the dry ice method and the plunger method on each dent respectively. I'll let you know if and how each method works. There is a video YouTube on removing the headliner of the 3rd gen Tundra if you ever have to do it yourself. I see why they charge so much to pull the headliner and pop the dents, its easy but looks like it will take a fair amount of time. Anyway, your roof looks great to me. I would recommend at least a 4 inch lift so that next time no one will ever see the roof damage. Problem solved through further mods. I'm 4 1/2 lift and can't see the roof, but my ocd won't let me forget the dents.

The lift is an awesome idea but I’m petrified to screw with the ride ..

Baknblk2014, your post made me join.

Don't bother with the glue pull dent kit unless you know what you are doing with it. I've been doing PDR for 20 years and unless you have a light board and know how to use a knock down you won't do anything but booger it up.

Dry ice does not work because the dent just comes back after it heats up again. When a dent is created, the metal moves in a wave, bunches up, and stops. You can push it back from behind all day, but if you do not feed the metal back into the dent by knocking it down properly, it will never come out completely.

Likewise, if you don't release the tension when glue pulling or using dry ice it will not be repaired fully.

It sucks that the metal is paper thin and the ribbing does almost nothing to support any weight.

Upside is the rear window goes down on a crew max giving a dent guy a great access from multiple sides once the head liner is down to repair it.

Big soft roof dents suck to repair sometimes. Dents tend to travel on roofs and hoods sometimes because of glue spots and you end up chasing them around.

It is sad how easy it is to ding today's cars and trucks. Simply leaning on some leaves dents. Hope this was useful.

I didn't mean to come off as an ass on my first post and it wasn't solely directed. I just want to save people the time and money of buying useless junk and the possibility of making it unrepairable by anyone except a body shop.

Glue pullers do work in the right hands, but there is nothing worse than trying to fix a dent after someone has already messed with it.

It can be hard to find a good dent guy depending on where you live.

Hey Smash, appreciate the info. I'm old school so no safe space needed and not easily offended. You sound like you know what you are talking about and didn't come off as a ass. I've learned a lot on here this last year by people sharing their knowledge and experiences. I'm definitely a do it yourself guy if I can, for the experience and also to save a little cash. I plan on doing the total soundproofing mod so I will be dropping the headliner for that in the future so with your advice in mind I will probably wait to do the dent removal until then. I am the only one who will ever see the roof and that's only when I wash the truck but I do want it to be right. Thanks for the info. I might hit you up for some tips/hints when I do the fix.

I can understand with a newer truck. I have the BDS 4 1/2 and it rides awesome. The lift components come with a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser and your factory warranty will still be valid for all things unless they can prove the lift directly affected the affected areas. That's my understanding at this time anyhow. I've owned trucks in the past and I can honestly say I will never own a truck that doesn't have a lift and 35s again. Just the smile factor when driving is priceless. I've had the truck for coming up on a year in February and I still look back at it every time I get out and walk away from it.

It's even hard to find bad dent guys around here. All the dent repair shops are still trying to catch up from last Springs hail storm damage.

I had a 2007 fx4 that i absolutely loved ... Decided it was time to do ball joints so I rebuilt the entire front end... Moog and rancho everything , all new. I always had 33” nittos trail grapplers and planned on 34” after the rebuild.. When all was done the ride was horrible & it forced me to start looking for a new truck.. that being said I’m gonna enjoy the factory ride for a while but by the 2018 hunting season I’m gonna have to do something to fit 33” on my tundra

Totally understandable. This is my first lifted truck owned and I was really impressed with the quality of the BDS lift. From what I understand they are a little more expensive but worth it. If you are happy with the oem set up then enjoy it, do your own extensive research on lifts and tires when its time.
