VERIZON FIOS 'OVERSIGHT'

Just got my bill for the month and saw an increase of $60, needless to say I called and wasn't very pleasant to them. Turns out the 'promotional' period ended. 'What f*cking promotion' I said. Upon further investigation by them it was an 'oversight' they claimed.

Beware of the cheating scum

 

Don't like them or their customer service but best coverage for me and my travels. If not for their coverage area where I go for work I'd be with another provider.

 

I guess I should say as a company as a whole.

 

On top of the other by with them why in the hell don't they give us unlimited data like most of the others for a good price.

 

Plenty of people I know are cutting the cord these days using Sling / Vue / YouTube, might look in to that

 

We have Sling and Hulu with live tv. Haven't had cable or satellite for 2 + yrs

 

you still have to pay some subscription and internet bills though. I switched to OTT a while back too.

 

Lots of choices around now, so eventually the cable companies will have to compete by lowering their prices, when mine expires in 2018 i'm off

 

Comcast does the same type of stuff.

 

I work in that industry, they won't necessarily lower their prices, they will offer different options/packages for you. You have more choices but they still want to make their money

 

They all do it

 

You have to be the smart shopper and be ready to use one provider for internet and another one for IPTV..etc..and if you are not computer or tech savy then you kinda stuck with them.

 

We just got tired of going through the same thing every year of hassling on the price. Only have internet and it's save us some change.

 

They have too many channels to watch of cable which are mostly crap....i refuse to pay for crap i don't watch

They did the same thing to me. I wasn't aware of a one year promotional period. You can't cancel because they charge you a termination fee... I hate Verizon...

 

glad i only have Netflix and Amazon prime

at the end of the day it's about content: do you want local channels ? CNN ? ESPN ? Disney for the kids..etc..some providers offer some of them ,some offer them all...prices go up and down but yeah cable.satellite providers they always lure you in and it's difficult to cut them off because you are using their set top boxes, internet..etc..so people tend to stay with them and pay a lot more.
with Directv Now or Hulu or whatever other apps you can cancel easily.

 

I got tired of paying an ever increasing monthly bill for FiOS (phone, TV, internet), so I researched the best new customer offer available from Xfinity, called Verizon and told them I was canceling my FiOS service and switching immediately. My monthly FiOS bill was magically reduced by $100 in a matter of minutes.

Exactly what happened to me last year, but then they 'forgot' the price was fixed until Nov 2018, so the jacked it up an extra 60 hoping I wouldn't notice, claiming it was a promotional offer for 12 months, which it wasn't so they kept it the same price until Nov 2018 after I called to give them what for

I still have AT&T call me being me to go back. I will only have internet....period. Netflix I've had for years....though I'm not current on all thing tv any more (i don't mind one bit) i like Netflix.

 

Netflix has good shows for sure. If you are AT&T mobile unlimited data plan, you can have Directv Now for $10 a month. I even got a free Roku with it.
