Daytime running lights

I want true daytime running lights on my truck, not just the parking lights. Does anyone have them or have any suggestions? I found these on ebay:

I believe on the 2nd gen some models I think xsp has this and it looks pretty good to me i want it too but just not sure yet

 

I have not seen these , they look interesting ! Wonder how they would work (i assume the amber turn /DRL would only be turn signals ) ?

 

the 3rd Gen lights are angled differently than 2nd gen so im curious how it will look

Angel, I have the same type panel led running lights for my 2nd Gen. I purchased mine from ebay also and I was pretty surprised with quality. Unfortunately after installation driver side led stop working. Merchant replaced it, but ended going bad on me again. It was then I decided to put a led strip right over led light. Turned out great for me. I'm not trying to suggest not buying, I just got a bad batch. I will say outside of white or black, you will have to get the panels color matched, (duh) . I recommend a body shop paint them. I paid $100. As far as hooking these lights up, i tapped into my ignition fuse via 10 amp fuse tap. I also have my halos wired on the same circuit. Lights come on when I start truck. Good luck.

After paint etc you might as well get 2018 sr5 headlights that has the drl strip built in like the old platinum headlights. Then again you might as well get the 2018 off road lights so you get full leds!!! Dilemmas .... dilemmas .... good luck @4x4_Angel

 

These are silver like my truck....and it looks (from the pics) to match pretty well. I don't have $800 to dump into lights.

I saw something like these (I say something because they light strip looked a little different) installed on a black 3rd gen and it looked pretty great. Looked awesome at night with switchback DRLs too! DO EET!

 

I had the Rostra kit installed on my silver Tundra. The paint was a close match and the lights were plenty bright, but I couldn’t get over the tacked on aftermarket look so I ended up replacing them with a pair of used oem Platinum headlights. If these install like the Rostra kit the amber DRL’s will still be active unless you cut/ un pin the gray wire from the flasher module.

 

Did they last?

 

I only had them on the truck for about four months before I switched over to the oem Platinum headlights. I just viewed the install vid for these and they wire up differently than the Rostra unit I had

 

So the platinums have day time running lights?

 

Yes, I had retrofit a pair of stock 14-17 1794/Platinum LED DRL headlights onto my 2016 Tundra SR5. I recently reto'd again to the 2018 Headlights

 

Guess i need to look into that too the....i want daytime running lights

 

Couple different options.

You can have LED switchback strips installed on the bottom of your headlights like a Platinum. This would require them to be opened and that can affect the stock seal though.

You can also look into NSV auto for the daytime running lights and trim below the stock headlights.
