Def investing in this as my next mod. I miss the little bit of acceleration I had before going up to 35's. :puke:

It took about 200 to 300 miles to see the better MPGs.

Well, my light still hasn’t come on yet, but I found some calculator online. I’m figuring my tires make me off by 13% so my last fill up would have been off by 42 miles.. my odometer is off.. so last fill up said 335 miles and I used 32 gallons so that’s like 10.5 mpg but being off 13% adds an additional 40-45 miles more so it’s really like I’m getting 375-380 miles to a tank and that makes it almost 12mpg since I figured out my odometer.. but my tank this fill up has gone over the last miles.. it’s more broken in now so I’ll let you know tomorrow

@CJ21 and now I’ve done my 3rd tank of gas. So my larger tires make my truck odometer off by 14%. Before Gears I was filing up at 320-340. But add another 40-50 for odometer off. So today I filled up at 370 miles plus 52 extra for the 14% off . That’s 422 miles. So I averages 13mph now. Before it was like 11mpg.. when I was stock, I was getting like 440-460 so it’s almost back to where I was before I upgraded tires and lift..:thumbsup:

Not really. The only thing I’ve really noticed was a gain on power.. and it switches into 6th gear now on the freeway, before it would struggle to change. Now when you get up to that range it shifts easy. Worth doing it for sure, 100% hope info helps with anyone looking for answers

If anyone is looking to buy 4.88 gears. Boss4x4s on Instagram is selling new Nitro 4.88s sets for front and rear at $1,189 shipped. Just a suggestion for anyone in the market.

How’s that compare to typical pricing? I want to do this at some point. If it makes sense I’d buy them now and stash them.

I got mine for $1200 shipped and that is a solid price. Anything lower than that I would say you’re doing good.

I paid $1,518 for my 4.88 ring and pinion gears and the install bearing kit before tax. I would make sure if that kit includes the install bearing kit. Here are the parts numbers for the G2 4.88 gears and bearing kit.

Did you get front and rear gears install kits plus the lsd for $1518? If so that’s a good price!
Front and rear Nitro gears plus master rebuild kits cost me $1200 shipped as noted in my previous post. My lsd was another $450 shipped. It’s all still sitting in my garage waiting to be installed.

Nice! I think 5.29’s would be good for 37’s and maybe even 40’s but for for 35’s 4.88’s should be plenty.

Yea 4.88 is pretty good for 35’s, I’d assume.. my truck is still lacking for sure.. even tho I can roast the tires :D but certainly I’ll be ready to order the 5.29’s im 3 months... 5.13 should be good for 37’s but they skilled ahead to the next size up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
