I don't know what year this one is (I think it's a 2010), but I do sort of know the guy who owns it. He originally had a 1989 or 1990 Toyota 4x4 that he'd owned since new, and that truck was in great shape for its age. It had the 3.0L V6 and 5-speed stick, but no A/C. He strongly considered putting A/C in it, but in the end he just sold it and bought a "new" used Tundy.

This red Tundy is a base model 4x4 with the 4.6L V8. It also, of course, has air-conditioning...

Spotted this one in the parking lot at work. For those of you just tuning in, I barback at a restaurant/music venue with an indoor bar (venue), and an outdoor bar (patio). Sometimes, depending on the weather, we open the patio bar on Sundays, and that's why I'm at work on a Sunday!

In my opinion, there's never been a more appropriate time to use this...

A little of this and a little of that.

Well you sound like a wonderful individual. Anybody who bullies another, especially if they have any type of disability, should be severely beaten. I didn’t like bullies when I was growing up and always stood up for the little guy. I still do today. Sorry you had it so rough but I’m sure that’s helped you mold into the person you are today. Welcome to the family from Las Vegas....

I was 10 years old when the Tundra first came out. My dad stationed at Norfolk and we were living in Virginia Beach. As soon as the first new Tundras hit the lot at the local Toyota dealer, I talked my dad into driving me there to pick up a sales brochure for me to read. One thing I immediately noticed was that it was not possible to get the 4.7L V8 with the manual transmission, and this rather annoyed me. I was just wondering if anyone has managed to build their own 4.7L/5-speed Tundra?

I also just realized that I've seen one 1st gen access cab stick shift in my whole life. It was back in late 2002 and my uncle was looking to buy a new pickup truck. Me, my dad, and my cousin went with him to browse on a day when the dealer was closed. This was when we lived in Northern Virginia/DC suburbs, and the dealer was somewhere in Fairfax County, near Vienna. One brand new Tundra on the lot was a fully loaded gray or silver access cab SR5 2WD with the 3.4L V6. It was unlocked so we sat in it, and I distinctly remember that it had a manual transmission.

My uncle really wanted a truck, and my aunt said he could only buy one if it was yellow. She was thinking this would discourage him, but it didn't. He ended up buying a yellow 2002 Nissan Frontier XE crew cab 2WD, with a V6 and 5-speed. 15 years and about 130K miles later, my uncle still has that truck and it's never given him any trouble. I still wish he would have gotten the Tundra...

This is the one I was referring to...

However, keep in mind that this was built as a stripped-down, but still street-legal, race truck. It has a heater, and that's really about it. The A/C and radio were removed...

The power steering, power brakes, and traction control system remain in place...

What did they use for a transmission? Im sure the the bell housing had to be custom made and probably the structure and tunnel modified.

Very cool indeed. Every / ALL (6) of my Tacos had a standard tranny.

I still try and push the clutch starting the Tundra.
