I just removed the 5.7 and the Tundra badge from my 2014. I used a heat gun and fishing line to get the badges off, then the heat gun to get the remainder of the glue off. Everything worked great, but I can still see where the badges used to be. I used Mothers clay bar, like I did for my Tacoma, and I can still see it even though it feels smooth glass.

Is there anything else I could use to get rid of it completely? I was thinking a good wax and a buffer to blend the paint in that area?

Is it darker than the surrounding area or lighter? A pic would help.

It's really hard to see and I'm sure I'm the only person that will ever notice it, but knowing its there bothers me. Here are the best pictures I could get. It looks like a smudge in the picture but it's just barely darker where the badges used to be.

In person you can see it at different angles. I'll probably just wax and buff it to see if it helps.

I think @jberry813 answered that one for me. Lol

I'll update this thread after I buff it out and see what it does.

    Buffing/Glaze/Wax
-Hard to see in pic, but know what your talking about, b/c the clear under the emblems haven't seen the sun "UV" an normal everyday surface scratches like the rest or your paint job has.
-The only way to get the rid of that is buffing, use compound, then foam polishing pad with a swirl remover "glaze" with a machine buffer. In the pictures the wool pad go's with the #1 compound "white top", the foam pad go's with the #3 bottle.
-Then when done buffing all cleaned up, little soap an water, then wax it.

-If you don't have machine to buff with can do by hand, best result is by machine

    Thanks for the info! :itllbuffout:
I figured that's what it was since the paint was already smooth but I could still see where it was. Hopefully I'll have a weekend off soon so I can get it done, and I'll post after it's done.
