    Hey y'all!

Sold my Tacoma back in June and finally found its replacement a 2015 crewmax 1794 edition 4x4.

I'm hoping this forum will be as useful and entertaining as tacomaworld was!!

Thanks, long process and still a lot to do. I remember working grave yard, I loved it. Went fishing, played golf, and drank beer. Those were the days

Welcome! Any interior pix? The reason I ask is I haven't seen a 1794 in that color, with that grill, and without the 1794 badges...

Welcome and congrats from Western PA. You know, it's perfectly okay to take pictures when it's raining. It makes pretty cool pictures. I live in Western PA. If I waited for the perfect weather to take pictures, I would have only a few pictures, haha.

Thanks mdavis!! Looks like we are in for some heavy rainfall this weekend as well 8-10 inches :rain:

I'll get some pics of the interior I'm actually at the shop now getting two new tires put on and the skid plate cut. I got the truck used 7800 miles and it's got a leveling kit apparently their 160 point inspection failed to discover the skid plate taking chunks out from the tires.....two free tires for me!!! :itllbuffout:

    Thanks Primo!!

I'll be up your way soon chphilo, I come up there every year for deer season. Usually hunt the Mount Davis area and Somerset County area.

    Thanks csuviper!

    Thanks MotoTundra.

Get this, still at the dealership been here since 8 to get two new tires and the skid plate trimmed up, manager just came and got me and says the studs are too short for the wheels that are on the truck (they were on the truck when I purchased it mind you) says they will need to put longer studs on the truck.....dafug?! Is this a common issue for out trucks?

No, not common from anything I've read/heard. Sounds like a shortcut was taken somewhere during assembly.

I didn't think so either Sean266. I got in touch with my regular mechanic and he had never heard of it either. The manager was very distraught that they sold me the truck with lug nuts that didn't fit the studs or wheels that didn't fit the studs, their solution is to put longer studs on the whole truck, no sweat off my back besides not having my brand new truck :censored: . So I suppose the interior pics will have to wait until tomorrow :sadviolin:

:help:Update on the truck for those interested.

Had the front two tires replaced because the originals had been rubbing the skid plate and were tore up, as well as have the correct lug nuts put on. Went to pick the truck up once it was done, cranked it up pulled out the parking lot and 4lo/4hi begins flashing and traction control and ABS is illuminated, also the BSM system beeps very loudly when turned on and screen says "BMS see dealership" then it doesn't work. According to toyota the wire going to the front passenger speed sensor in the hub has been pulled out from the sensor due to the leveling kit. They say the wire was taped on rather than zip tied thus preventing it from moving. They said once he suspension was at full droop on the lift the wire got pulled from the sensor which is what caused the lights to come on.

Has anyone else experienced this? The sensor is supposed to be in tomorrow so we will see if this fixes the issue.

It is only a 3inch leveling kit and the truck only has 8k miles on it.

I've heard of this, but not "BMS; see dealer"
    Should be a simple fix.

My fault, was meant to be BSM (blind spot monitoring) typo :typing:

Apparently that is a fault the system throws because it needs recalibrated to compensate for the lift...I wouldn't think that system would be tied into the hub sensor as well and if it isn't tied into the hub system surely every time I get new tires I'm not gonna have to have the BSM recalibrated because the truck went up on a lift

Luckily it has an off button

What? BSM is sensors built into the bumpers...that should have zero effect on the lift.

According to Toyota once the vehicle is lifted the sonar that the sensors are using is thrown off and needs to be recalibrated to adjust for the new height???

Which sort of makes sense to me but I would only think that would apply to the parking sensors not the BSM sensors as the distance from the ground shouldn't really effect the BSM....or maybe it does??

Always stayed away from the vehicles with all the bells and whistles just for the simple fact that more gadgets on the vehicle meant more gadgets to go wrong. I'm hopeful this is only a minor hiccup and won't continue to be an issue.

I don't think that's correct. Yes, there is a zero point calibration that can be done for ABS and such, but not for blind spot monitoring.
    @LOTSOFTOYS any input?

The tech half-ass explained it to me saying: "They use some sort of laser system that reflects laser to the sensors from the ground and that's how it learns the distances and knows when to beep" seemed to me like he wasn't exactly sure of the process himself.
